Product Description

The Vox Mini3 Modeling Guitar Amplifier offers everything a guitarist needs: a wide range of authentic sounds, great effects, a convenient and compact size, AC or battery powered portability and a great design that you've come to expect from Vox. Drawing on Vox's superior modeling technology, the Mini3 provides a total of eleven amp models, ranging from a powerful high-gain sound to a sparkling clean sound. Also included is a new clean, non-distorting setting that supports a direct line connection from a keyboard or other source. A full complement of effects is also provided, as well as a built-in tuner. In addition, the Mini3 provides a versatile array of connections. You'll find a dedicated mic input, plus an AUX input ideal for connecting an MP3 player, making the Mini3 the perfect unit for street performances. From the versatile Jam Vox to the acclaimed Valve Reactor and Valvetronix series amplifiers, Vox has earned a reputation for premium modeling technology. The Mini3 is no exception, delivering 11 accurate and authentic amp models covering a broad range of styles and playing techniques. Starting with the coveted Vox British tone, the Mini3 also offers the sounds of classic historic amps, today's intense hi-gain amps, and hard to obtain rare "boutique" amplifiers. A pure, non-distorting clean model is included in the eleven amp types. This allows nearly any acoustic instrument fitted with a pickup or an acoustic-electric guitar to be connected to the Mini3, providing a rich and satisfying tone without losing any of your instrument's acoustic resonances or nuances. This setting is also ideal for use with a keyboard or workstation, allowing the Mini3 to function as a portable PA system as well as a guitar amp.

The Vox Mini 3 is truly the best battery powered amp I've tried--it's far superior to 5 others that I own. The speaker is high quality stuff--I think it's a Celestion custom made for Vox. The cabinet is constructed very well with a bass port tuned to the speaker to deliver good low end response. Access to the 6 double A batteries is very simple via a velco secured door in back. Note that an ac-dc power supply is included and it works well, too. Batteries maintain power for a long time in this amp and the overall volume of this amp is quite loud--far louder than any of my other battery amps. Much of this is due to the ummpph added by a variable integrated compressor. Two inputs on the amp both work well--one for mic with trim controls and one for guitar. There are many amp models integrated into this amp ranging from clean to very dirty--I like them all. There is a direct option incase you want to bypass all the digital amp models and import an external preamp tone. The carry strap included is a very nice touch--it works like a small guitar shoulder strap and includes the Vox logo. The white surface of this amp is pristine, tough, and looks really vintage as does the grille and logo. The bumper feet are thick and work well. Finally, the built in effects are all good--echoes, reverbs, compressor, chorus, and flanger--all variable. In all, it is the best battery amp available today based on my own direct comparison tests.

I agree with the reviews above. this thing is EVEN MORE amazing when you run this little circuit board through an 8-10 inch speaker. the sounds are truly amazing -- that little 4 inch speaker doesn't do this circuit board justice.

This little amp is an incredible modeling amp with models that are quite true to the actual amps they emulate. The effects are just incredible in fidelity and they too are like the actual pedal effects. The reverb/delay effects are just over the top in quality and performance. I am a Vox fanatic anyway and own several others but this little gem certainly has all the quality that you'd expect in an AC-15 or 30 but it also has the modeling capabilities of the incredible Valvetronix Series of Vox amps but in a miniscule package and a much smaller scale that gives huge value and big Vox amp quality and performance excellence. It is also plenty loud and I actually used it without having to mic it at a family reunion in a medium sized parish hall.If you are looking for the quintessential practice/travel amp, this puppy is unbeatable in that category.

First let me say that I only play acoustic guitar. I needed amplification and have only used the clean setting since I am not interested in electric guitar type effects. That being said, I bought this because I have occasion to need my guitar to be louder and don't have a place to plug into a sound system. I didn't want to pay the big bucks for something that was designed for an acoustic guitar. My Taylor 510 has a LR Baggs M1 soundhole pickup. I needed volume at a garden wedding, so this battery operated model was just the thing. I hid it behind a plant and the sound was natural enough that no one even realized I was plugged in. Would this please an acoustic purist? I couldn't say, (I doubt it) but it was better than I expected and for the modest price, I think I will be glad to have it and will have occasion to use it at church and other functions when the guitar needs a boost. It also has a spot to plug in a microphone, which could be useful for singing or speaking as well.

It meets my expectations and meets my needs.

This is a good practice amp for beginners. The sounds are ok for most of the settings, and surprisingly can produce high volume. The delay and chorus are great and very usable. The other effects - not so much. The thing that I didn't like about it is that it is not transparent, meaning, something happens to the natural guitar sound for any setting that you use. If you use headphones or the environment is quite, you also hear a constant small hissss, which I really didn't like.
If you want a real good practice amp (but with no effects), I would go for the Vox PF10. It's about the same price, but sounds like a real big high quality amp.

This little amp does it all and even has a jack for a microphone which I tried and works great. It has all the features in my bigger vox amp but portable. I like the fact that it takes batteries as well. If you want to see the many features this little amp has go to vox web site and check it out. I am very pleased with my purchase.

HONESTLY, i never thought a little thing like this could have sooo much power and sound soooooo good! Its mind blowin to see how many sounds and effects this amp carries. Not only that but it has a built in tuner and a microphone input and its PORTABLE. At first i thought it was going to be and indoor/practice amp. Boy was i wrong! Ive taken it to a few gigs and a few parties. Soo far its been good, ive impressed my friends who own brands like roland or any other portable amp. I have had for a while now.. almost a year and its still sounds like it did the first time i used it. I would reccomend this amp for those who have an interset in different types of sounds and effects, this little thing has a lot inside. I personally feel that i did a good thing in buying this item. Theres not many amps that can do what this amp does... and who can argue with the price? I certainly will buy another. $100 well spent. :)
