Why Read Voyage of the Frog,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Voyage of the Frog (Paperback)
Voyage of the Frog has the spazazz that you expect from Gary Paulsen. The book is very well written and filled with tons of detail and lots of adventures. If you are the kind of person that likes to read constantly, this book will only take you a day or two, but it is a great read. Be ready for surprizes, settle down in your couch, and start reading about the Frog that is on the California coast.

This is a must read book for the sea-lovers.,

This review is from: Voyage Of The Frog (Hardcover)
This was a very interesting book and it had more action then I anticipated. This story is about a fourteen-year old boy who grants his uncle Owen his dying wish. When Owen dies David was left his boat. When trying to spread the ashes of Owen, David gets a taste of mother nature. David is stranded with little food and little water in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. After many close calls with everything from sharks to killer whales, David is given food and water from a research ship. He then starts on his journey back up the coast. I would recommend this book to teens who enjoy survival stories and action filled books.

Another Good Paulson Book,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Voyage of the Frog (Paperback)
This book not only has action and adventure, but also a plot. The main character is David Alspeth, who journeys out to sea to scatter his Uncle Owen's ashes. But he gets hit hard with a storm and swept 315 miles away from his home in California. He pases many obstacles, like almost being hit by an oil tanker, and experiences many wonders, like befriending killer whales. But he makes it home and finally fufill's Owen's dream. I thought this was a very good book for people who not only crave action but also Paulson's writing style. Things happened more in David's mind than in his boat, but this was a good action book none the less.

Lost at sea,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Voyage of the Frog (Paperback)
This book is an exiting book. When david was stuck out at sea a lot of cool things happened to him. One of my favorite parts in the book was when david almost got eaten by a shark while he was leaning over the edge of the boat. The book has 18 short chapters with something exiting in every chapter.
I think anyone who likes suspenseful stories will like to read this book.

great book,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Voyage of the Frog (Paperback)
In the beginning, David's dying uncle asks him to scatter his ashes in the ocean when he passes away. The next day David goes out on the boat with his uncle's ashes. As he ventures out, a tremendous storm hits him, and David gets cast away for nine days. He has some very close encounters with an oil tanker, a shark, and killer whales. If you want to find out more about this book stop by a library and check it out and read it.
I think this is a very heart-pounding, adventurous story and it is just an awesome book. When you read it you might think it is a humorous book in some parts. It is a story with twist and turns. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. I seriously think that this is a book that I would read more than once; it is so great.

The Voyage Of The Frog,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Voyage of the Frog (Paperback)
Have you ever been lost at sea with barely any food or water? Well, David Alspeth has in the book The Voyage Of the Frog. David Alspeth is a 14 year old boy who loves to sail. One day he goes out on his uncles boat to toss his uncles ashes into the ocean. Once he gets far out to sea a storm picks up and takes him on an adventure. David must try to survive. The theme is if you put your mind to it you can do it. I really liked this book because it has a lot of action and adventure. Action lovers will really like this book.

A book about a boy who is put against the forces of nature.,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Voyage of the Frog (Paperback)
I thought that this was a bad book. The reason was because of the books abrupt ending and how it is almost the same of Paulsens other books. The only reason I didn't give it Zero stars or one was because other than the ending this was an average book. Although it was the ending that was the biggest flaw that made me not like it very much. Although if you like Pualsens adventure books and dont care about the ending then this is the book for you.

The Voyage of the Frog in my view,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Voyage of the Frog (Paperback)
To me The Voyage of the Frog is not a very good book, I would not like to recommend it to anyone. I wouldnt even recommend it to the author himself, Gary Paulsen. For all of those who do read the book, you must be some person that is extremely obsessed with boats. You could also be one of those people that just has to read every book that they can find. I didn't like it, because I dont understand how a fourteen year-old is able to live on water for like two weeks with seven cans of canned goods, no radio, and no clue of where he is. I also didn't understand all the fancy talk about the boat gears and gadgets. This book is a good book for the sailor or fisherman in all of us. Some will like this book and some will not, but I surely didn't. I say good luck to all of you who try to read it.
