This is a fantastic book for 12- 14 year olds. It is packed with high sea adventures, good guys and bad guys that you love to hate.
Dexter and Nick are brothers whose father was killed on a whaling ship and their dream has forever been to also go to sea. They make a hasty and unfortunate choice of whaling ships and end up with a brutal tyrant of a captain, Captain Thorndike. But the beautiful Elizabeth adds glamour and intrigue to the tale. Every chapter ends with a cliff hanger and dares you to quit reading. You can't. |
