Comment by writer of subsequent Poppykettle book, July 17, 1999

This review is from: Voyage of Poppykettle (Library Binding)
The Voyage of the Poppykettle, along with its sequel The Unchosen Land, was published almost 20 years ago in Australia. I have copies of both books, given to me by Robert Ingpen himself. The reason he gave them to me was that they were source material for a new book we'd been working on together, me writing it, he illustrating. Our collaboration was entirely by fax, as Robert lives in Australia and I live in England. The new book, THE POPPYKETTLE PAPERS, tells the story of the last five Hairy Peruvians, a race of tiny people who set sail from the shores of 16th century Peru in search of a new home on the other side of the Pacific. After many trials and tribulations - and the loss of two of their number - the survivors reach Australia (the Unchosen Land) where a very unexpected surprise awaits them. The Poppykettle Papers is due out Autumn 1999 from Pavilion Books, London, and it looks absolutely stunning. I'm told the words aren't bad either. As soon as it becomes available through Amazon I'll tell you more about it in the `Author Comments' section. Watch out for it!
