5.0 out of 5 stars Super Schiller
I bought this record because of "Distance", which is on Ultra Chilled Vol. 3. The song haunts me (probably because I'm obsessed and listen to it every day), so I figured the entire album must be amazing. I was so right. The reviews are correct, their sound will remind you of Enigma, but still it is different. It's mellow, romantic, relaxing and haunting. Perfect...

5.0 out of 5 stars "Voyage" Definitely takes you on a wonderful voyage, November 7, 2002

I have been a fan of Schiller for a while now and always liked their style of music they play, but "Voyage" is definitely their best work yet...My favorite "Dream of You" is an awesome track that I could listen to over and over again and never get tired of with it's beautiful melody, actually the whole CD is that way which will take you into melodic bliss.

Schiller is made up of two musicians from Hamburg, Germany...Christopher Von Deylen and Mirko Von Schlieffen and definitely know how to combine Ambient, Trance, Dance, Chillout, and New Age and not be boring like some of those other Chillout, or Ambient CD's out there. If you want a good Chillout CD than definitely pick up "Voyage"..I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

This CD is best listened with headphones with the lights off and your eyes closed...just let the music take you away. Enigma fans will love this, but will like Schiller more...Don't get me wrong I like Enigma too, but Schiller is a little better in my opinion

I bought the first Schiller album a while ago based on a recommendation, but was very disappointed. I thought it was unoriginal, kind've annoying, and every song sounded way too similar. I am very glad I decided to give them another shot, though, and buy "Voyage." It's great! There is way more variety, but all the songs come together into an ethereal cohesive whole. "Dream of You" is obviously the standout track, and really the most "mainstream." Most of the other tracks are a little closer to "new age" or "worldbeat," and only a couple others feature vocals. It's recorded in Dolby surround sound, which really adds to the ethereal quality. This is an amazing album to kick back and chill to. Highly recommended for fans of trance, techno, new age, worldbeat, and chillout electronica. One of the best albums of the year so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars American Weltreise, June 12, 2002

This is the English version of Weltreise. (I always wondered what the hell they said!) I lost my German version but it was good enough to buy again. This is a trance lovers "must have" CD. Similar to Enigma but original enough to stand on its own. Check out Zeitgeist also.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best synthpop albums out there!!!, July 2, 2002

This album is absolutely RICH with creativity and ingenuity. It's released by Radikal Records which is relatively new, I personally think they have done a superb job with the whole design & creative packaging of the CD-- notice a different CD casing approach! Aside from that, Schiller has successfully brought the mix of synthpop/electronica/dance/new age to the next level !!! I'm amazed by their ceativity in mixing all those ingredients together and make it a sound masterpiece. Great job guys !! This has made my Top Ten list album of ALL TIME. All tracks are superbly done. My favorites are: "Dream of You" (with Peter Heppner), "Dancing With Loneliness", "Destiny", "Distance", and "Dreams." There are also some cool positive messages inscribeb in between tracks. VERY COOL !!! Definitely "A-MUST-HAVE" !! Peace !!

5.0 out of 5 stars Schiller--Sonic Sculptors of masterpieces, October 10, 2003
This review is from: Voyage (Audio CD)
This is one of my favourite albums! And it is only going to get better! Their next full-length release is called "Leben" which will include vox from Peter Heppner of Wolfsheim (Again!Yay for Wolfsheim!), Sarah Brightman (who covers "a beautiful day" on her new release "Harem"),The one and only Alexander Veljanov of Deine lakaien Fame,as well as Kim Sanders again and Mila Mar on the first single "Liebe". Pick up Voyage first, then the new one (out in October in Deutschland), and then Zeitgeist. Amazing music!

Schiller is simply fantastic! I own all 5 of his albums, and it is difficult to pick a favorite as they are all unique and amazing in their own way.

This album in particular is very relaxing - enigma like, yes, but like I mentioned, very unique. Schiller has broken barriers with his sound, and if you're into ambient trance, this is the album to get!

I also found the narration in this album inspiring, mind opening and relaxing!

4.0 out of 5 stars Hints of of others, but works, November 20, 2004

If you like Enigma and electronic club music you will like this disc. However, I could have done without the voice intro which is a serious and almost comical rip off of Enigma. Also, is Peter Heppner a German incarnation of Peter Murphy? When I first heard Dream of You, I thought "Oh, that's what happened to Peter Murphy." On the whole, it works very well. The track entitled "Schiller" is my favorite instrumental, and the various vocalists do an excellent job. I also speak German, so the German bits are actually a plus.

Perhaps if all the talking, and the word "Schiller" wasn't used so many times throughout the album I might have been more...generous... with my rating, but this self-aggrandizing stuff is usually relegated to hip-hop bling addicts, not electronica gurus.

Not that I have any huge love of Enigma, but the first 2 tracks here might as well have been copies of songs from Enigma's first album....and not very good ones at that.

Too much repetition, too canned-sounding, not enough inventiveness, and waaay too schmaltzy to ever be considered a contender.

Great electronica creates effect without being obvious about it. This doesn't.

(Sorry for the bad review, but I know mediocre music when I hear it.)
