Voyage of Shame describes this book well. It is a poorly written, uninteresting book that is blatantly trying to cash in some money by appearing as an erotic novel. The story is about a bunch of female naval recruits that have been sent to an all male naval vessel against the captain's wishes. In response, the captain allows his crew to take liberties with their new crewmates in order to "teach them a woman's place". And surprise of suprises, it turns out that the females really love this uninspiring humiliation.

A weak storyline, which is further crippled by poor writing, makes this book worthless. The book is too short to develop any interesting characters, the situations that the characters are placed in are unimaginative and the descriptions of the actual sex is unexciting.

If you are looking for good D&S writing, try Laura Rees or Laura Antinou instead.

This book started off with six female naval personnel boarding a British warship on which they were not welcome or wanted. So far, so good. But then, on their first day out, the captain beats the one female officer, rapes her, and turns over the five other females to his crew to be repeatedly raped over the next several weeks, while the female officer is to be shared by the other male officers. Sound erotic to you? I didn't think so. Escapist fantasy is one thing, but it's like not one member of the crew felt the slightest bit guilty of raping & abusing these females without their consent? I can't relate to that. As for the reviewer below, I totally disagree with his contention that the lesbian sex between the women was uncalled for. I thought it was the most erotic part of the book! Let me clarify: the ONLY erotic part of the book!

I thought this was a great s/m novel. I read some of the unfavorable reveiws of it and I don't agree. Like the second reveiwer said "It's just a fantasy." I find that nonconsentual sex is far more erotic in an s/m novel because it conveys a certain reality. Even a fan of s/m fantasy isn't going to be willing with a perfect stranger . . .at first. I thought the military setting was a perfect excuse for disipline. Although I also found the male character one dimensional in comparison to the females I would still highlyreccomend it.

This is a fine book. Some scenes are intense. However, the male characters are rather "flat", and the voyage at sea goes a bit too long. This book it seems was written with good understanding of women and real caring for them, despite the fact that in the book they are portrayed as helpless playthings of domineering men

I loved this book. Unlike many who thought the non-consensual acts were too much to take, I thought it heightened the fantasy qualities. After all, this is just a FANTASY! I didn't like the cliched lesbianism of many of the female victims. Of six women in the novel, one was an outright lesbian, and four just turning that way. This has become so boring in these types of novels. Why do the authors (both men and women) assume readers are turned on by reading about homosexual behavior? I find it repugnant and boring. Ohterwise, I liked it a lot.

One dimensional male characters but some well-fleshed out (and the pun is intentional) female ones combined with some very steamy domination/submission scenes make this an enjoyable read. It goes on a bit too long but what sex novel doesn't? Worth a read. In fact, most Silver Moon books are worth a read.

An excellent read...the story of a lady who becomes what she truly is..a slave to her Master.How she learns,grows,and enjoys her fait!If you have desires to have your limits pushed...this is a book for you.

Sorry, this one left me cold. There was no consent of the submissives, which I view as critical to S/M. I also had a tough time with the premise: sexual harrassment on board a navy ship. Too close to the headlines.
