Just to clarify, the only difference between this deck and Amazon's $35 "Voyager Tarot Kit: Intuition Cards for the 21st Century" is that this deck is 10% smaller in size (and about 1/2 the price).
I have both decks, and actually prefer this size as it is easier for me to shuffle.
Either way, you can't go wrong. I LOVE THE VOYAGER TAROT! Thanks James for such an amazing tool!

Perhaps it's because I'm a professional psychic and have used only the Voyager deck for divination since it was first published many years ago, and therefore know the cards like the back of my hand ... but I'm not happy with the reproduction of a lot of the cards in this (wonderfully!) smaller version of the original Voyager. Many cards are muddy, out of focus, and simply not as beautiful as the originals, including the marvelous DNA cross-section image on the backs.

The deck remains gorgeous, insightful, profound, and uniquely able to access modern sensibilities, as well as conscious and unconscious minds, because the collage art uses modern images.

Wanless (who is a brilliant teacher, by the way -- check out his web site!) has created, along with artist Ken Knutson, a richly textured and visionary masterpiece that, as I said, is often easier for people with modern sensibilities to identify with and remember.

The voyager tarot deck is an intuitive tool just as much as it is a 'standard' tarot deck. James Wanless makes it not only easy but practical for using the voyager deck in everyday life. Gone is the need to know the esoteric meaning of symbols. With this deck it's about what does the word or image mean to you. I'd recommend starting to use the deck without the book first to get your intuitive juices flowing and create your own sense of the cards. Finally we have a modern day tool for the practical application of our intuition. I found that the meaning I get from the cards is multifaceted and not only figurative, helping me ponder a situation at a more analytical level, but also literal and predictive.

These are not for beginners, but for those already familiar with the Tarot, especially the minor arcana. If you wish to use these cards for psychic development, focus on cards like the Woman of Crystals to open your third eye. Study the images; they are there for a reason. These cards are good with more complicated spreads.

I have been using this deck for many years and am so happy to find the smaller version now. I travel a lot for my work and often use these cards in workshops and trainings. So the smaller deck is great for travel! Also easier size for smaller hands--easier to shuffle the deck and work with the cards. Then I keep my larger deck at home for daily use there.

The Voyager Tarot is an interesting deck. The images can be helpful in remembering the slightly unique meanings of the cards, however, they're not beautiful images found in the many new decks one can buy.

I like the production quality of this deck. Laminate seems to be pretty stable.

The meanings of the cards are not like your traditional Tarot RW deck. And the numbering system of the minors follow more the meanings of the major arcana. So if you're good with numerology, you will enjoy this deck. I find I can really get deep penetrating insight (of the situation or the psychology of the players involved) of the cards using the meanings Wanless chosen. But also, I feel as though I can use traditional RW meanings and give a decent reading.

I like the deck thus far. Maybe it will be one of my staple decks.

A real buff who loves to collect tarot decks will find this New Age, somewhat Buddhist collage style of unusual montages and new ideas (for example, crystals, not sword) very pleasing. Plus, it's kind of witchy. Shaman card, anyone?
