5.0 out of 5 stars A very well written book that makes you want to know more
Peter Aughton did a great job in picking out voyages that had both an impact to world history and that make interesting and exciting stories to read. I would recommend this to...

1.0 out of 5 stars Does anyone do fact checking?
I picked this up on remainder and finally stopped reading it when the errors became absurd. This seems to have been assembled from children's essays of several decades ago. The text is disjointed and contains many blatant errors. To list a couple: Page 74 refers to "the isle of Guam in the Philippines..." misplacing it by over 1200 miles; Page 105 has the subtitle "The Pilgrim Fathers establish North America's first successful colony", omitting Jamestown, the Spanish colonies in Florida and Mexico, and the French outposts in Canada. Please keep this away from your children.

I am amazed at how quickly this book arrived. It came way before they said it would be here. And it was in excellent condition.
