Very Good Store-Bought Reed, July 12, 2008
This review is from: La Voz Bassoon Reed - Medium Hard
This was the first reed I bought when I started learning bassoon a year ago. I just wanted something cheap since I figured I would break the reed really quickly, since that has been my experience on all other woodwinds I have learned! So I bought two of these and, as I improved, grew to appreciate what high quality they were. In fact, those reeds lasted over four months, with a great deal of care (I am a little OCD when it comes to caring for reeds, but that is still an exceptional life for a reed). Now my tutor makes me reeds sometimes, but I still have to have store-bought ones for back-up. La Voz are always my first choice, after trying Selmer (not bad, but soft cane breaks very easily) and Fox (which I don't recommend). If you are looking for an inexpensive but reliable reed, I highly suggest you try this one!
