Mari exceeds herself in this marvelous selection of songs of her and the harmonious Los Panchos. If you want to hear beautiful romantic music as it should be played and sung, she is the master. Some of the songs she wrote will knock you out like: Tuya and Manana. Just sit back, relax and let Mari and the Los Panchos entertain you. You don't have to know Spanish to enjoy it.

Mari Trini made this, her last, album in 2001, near the end of her tumultuous life so her emotionally intimate, goose-bumping voice finds its mellowed perfection here, full of melancholic intensity. Her slightly raspy vocals are backed and perfectly balanced by Rafael Basurto and his new group that successfully duplicates the sound of the Trio Los Panchos; no wonder since Basurto was lead singer of the original Trio Los Panchos. Trini was a multitalented artist who wrote most of her own songs of which six are featured in this album of 12 tracks. Of these six, four are first-class music creations while the other two are musically acceptable. For me, this album and Guadalupe Pineda's album "Con los Trios del Siglo" exemplify what's best in Latin romantic music in terms of melody, harmony and musical arrangement.
