5.0 out of 5 stars Tons of energy and weight loss? Yes please!
Seems like many people never feel compelled to post a review saying positive things about a product they actually liked though always quick to talk down about something they don't like. Deciding to turn over a new leaf and give the good with the bad I will tell you about my experience with VPN Redline Hardcore.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good energy boost from caffeine but the product's own website negates fat burning properties, July 22, 2010
This review is from: Vpx Sports / Redline Ultra Hardcore, 120 Liqrush Caps Bottle (Health and Beauty)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
There are both positives and negatives to the product. First, I took these for a few days right before Iworked out in the evening and did get an energy boost. I actually used them the night after to keep me awake a bit later on purpose.

I research any item greatly before taking it long-term, however so I did get some learning in on this one.

First, it should be said that no dietary supplements are regulated by the FDA.I think many already know this. It is said it will be in the future, but for now anything like a vitamin or that is classified as a dietary supplement can make claims from weight loss to male "increases". This is a dietary supplement...

So I went to the website to learn more about the ingredients.

First, the energy burst that I did enjoy in a pill was from a great deal of caffeine...290mg. That is equal to three "stay awake" pills such as No-Doz and equal to more than 3 whole cups of coffee. Still, I am not one to avoid caffeine and sometimes like that boost so I have no strong opinion on that but others who do should know that going in. If you want a natural energy boost, try something with quercetin. This isn't it.

As for the weight loss, the website by this manufacturer said that the study conducted by them showed weight loss. BUT...Far underneath that it said that this weight loss occurred "...when used in conjunction with increased exercise and a reduced calorie diet." Read that sentence again. Ummm, usage of my toe nail clippers would also show weight loss results if I worked out more and ate less when using them. So that was an eye opener and I felt a bit duped, though not entirely surprised.

But it gets better.

Also on this product website, I guess just to be safe of all legalities for anyone surprised that they don't lose weight from it, it also says in small print if you keep reading:

"Do not use for weight reduction".

Seriously.

So, that said, if you aren't looking to lose weight from this, but do sometimes need to stay awake longer without feeling like downing tons of coffee...look, it has it's place. Let's say you go out with friends and you are an early bird and the night is running long...you may not be able to grab some coffee, but you might make it home more easily with a few in your purse. I'll give it that.

However, it does HINT at claiims to burn fat...but when you read the fine print after all the marketing, it says that part you can only do on your own by increasing calorie burning and decreasing caloric intake...

...But in all honesty, haven't we always known that?

UPDATE: But, if you need further scientific proof, the amount of herbs etc in here is negligible to do anything aside from the caffeine but still...I guineapigged it just to see what happened for the last month. Why not be totally sure? Out of curiosity, I put it to the test. I own a bodybugg (the armband devices on The Biggest Loser)which measures my EXACT caloric expenditure every day. I also recorded my exact caloric intake. I took these pills to see any boost from my normal metabolism and caloric burn. (I'm able to chart it on a computer.) Unfortunately, there was no increase in caloric burn or weight loss. I've recorded my normal caloric expenditure and intake for over a year now since I bought the bugg, so it's easy for me to gauge an increase, and it did remain stable.

That said, if I want to have 6 cups of coffee in 1 second I can take 2 pills and stay up a few extra hours. Do that enough and you will burn a few more calories...but is that healthy to do? Only you can decide.

I am a pretty active guy, I go to the gym, I eat decent, (healthy mostly, lousy sometimes) and I try to stay active but in this day and age with life being so hectic and my desk job taking up the majority of my life, staying thin can definitely become a struggle especially when you're metabolism slows down. Because of this I began taking a VPN Redline over two months ago. So far I've managed to avoid all of the crazy side effects that that everyone seems to be talking about. I have loads of energy and I've even lost some weight. On the advice of another user of VPN I recently began stacking it with another supplement called Carb Stopper Extreme. It blocks Carbohydrates that you eat from turning into fat. Combining that with VPN Redline has been giving me some awesome results. So far I am down 23 pounds with this combo. With the VPN added energy boost, I can now make it to the gym after work and still be able to give it my all and the Carb Stopper is really doing a great job in giving me some added definition. All in all it's great product and definitely try the combo I mentioned for even better results.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweat, sweat, and more sweat!!!, May 8, 2010
By
This review is from: Vpx Sports / Redline Ultra Hardcore, 120 Liqrush Caps Bottle (Health and Beauty)
I bought this redline at GNC for[...], but i will return them since they are way cheaper here. They really do give me energy and makes me sweat alot. I was using the previous ones before the lady at GNC told me about these new ones. It does say that if you are more than 15 lbs over weight, do not use them. This is meant for those who only need to burn about 10 lbs or so. And do not exceed more than 3 daily. So i usually take 3 about 30 min before my workout with protein. The previous ones would make me a little sick if not taken with food, but these seem to be ok with or without food. Hope this helps.

4.0 out of 5 stars works well, July 8, 2010
This review is from: Vpx Sports / Redline Ultra Hardcore, 120 Liqrush Caps Bottle (Health and Beauty)
i work in the oil field, i usually drink 1-2 energy drinks a day. i recently tried these as an alternative to the energy drinks and it works quite well. i do not attempt to use them as a weight loss aid (as i do usually have a good "work out" at work but i tend to eat a lot of unhealthy food), i take them strictly for the energy boost. i would say they arent quite as "intense" as a redline drink, they do last longer. i would recommend

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for everyone..., October 21, 2010
This review is from: Vpx Sports / Redline Ultra Hardcore, 120 Liqrush Caps Bottle (Health and Beauty)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
As a few others have mentioned, the 200mg of caffeine in these pills only served to make me jittery. It only served to keep me very awake at work and keep from me going to sleep or staying asleep. I only tried the pills for a few days and had to stop if I wanted to be able to get a full night's rest. If you're sensitive at all to caffeine, this is not the product for you.

3.0 out of 5 stars ALLERGEN WARNING: Effective, but Needs Better Labeling, July 23, 2010
This review is from: Vpx Sports / Redline Ultra Hardcore, 120 Liqrush Caps Bottle (Health and Beauty)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
There's no doubt that Redline Ultra Harcore works. It goes into your bloodstream, and it gave me the energy and pumps I've been desiring from a workout for a long time.

As an added bonus, I haven't received the synapses firing in my brain (just call it old-fashioned irritableness?) of Lipo-6, a highly respected and award-winning option I've tried, nor the stomach upset of NOExplode, which gives a boost of a different sort. (I know a fat burner shouldn't be compared to a vaso-booster like the NO products because they're a horse of a different color, but they are both viable pre-workout options.)

My contention is that--believe it or not--despite the chock-full information, the label is flawed. The allergen warning reads: "Manufactured in a facility that processes milk, soy, tree nuts, and peanut[s]". [sic] On the sixth tier down (second to last), the ingredients under "NorEphiphex(TM) M-MAOxidizer-l" has "Barley" listed as an ingredient. I am gluten-free, and I looked over the product information before buying, and there was no information listed for me about barley or gluten.

Now, you need to sympathize about Celiac Disease. I realize you may be reading this review and rolling your eyes. Believe me, before I knew I had it, I used to do the same thing as I passed by the wheat and gluten-free aisles in health sections of both health and chain grocery stores. 'Oh, now whole wheat causes cancer!' I scoffed. Yet, in my defense, for those who are aware, Celiac awareness and gluten-free sales have almost climbed exponentially--even during this recession.

At the risk of belaboring the point, I called a VPX representative* in the product information division, and he acknowledged the discrepancy. They are [understandably] not going to change the ingredient--he said barley is a preservative [certainly preferable to BHT!], but, when I pressed him about the label information, he said he'd look into it. He also led me to some liquid alternatives that ARE gluten-free.

Now on the Internet's leading bodybuilding site [and store?], they have the whole product information displayed. (The facility is located in Boise where I live.) Yet, in Amazon's defense, they have similar products that are competitively priced (and potentially without the shipping costs).

I hope this review helps some of you. For those of us who are weight training and have food allergies, we have to be careful. Rice bran is often used in many body building products, but keep vigilant! Keep growing and stay gluten-free.

For the rest of you, especially those who use this product and are just doing cardio or no exercise at all, it's hard to say how you'd go wrong.

(Also in their defense, VPX has THOROUGHLY warned the consumer about caffeine and other ingredients, and they've placed proper caveats about minors, pregnant women, and people with certain health conditions.)

(*Their phone # is on the label.)

Respectfully, JP :>)

2.0 out of 5 stars Does this do anything?, October 2, 2010
This review is from: Vpx Sports / Redline Ultra Hardcore, 120 Liqrush Caps Bottle (Health and Beauty)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
So I finished the entire bottle, and I am not quite sure what to say of this product. I am giving it 2 stars due to my experience with it.

Me:
- about 6 feet tall
- 180 pounds
- Don't drink coffee or any other energy drinks
- Play soccer 2-3 times a week
- Basketball once a week
- Running once a week
- Work 7-4

Here are my observations.
- I did not feel more awake when taking this.
- I did not notice any more energy or anything like that. For someone who drinks nothing of this sort, I expected this to have a bigger boost and be quite noticeable.
- I experienced much stronger urges to urinate than I can ever remember. Like I had to go right then. I almost stopped taking them due to this, it just felt very unnatural.

Possibly
- Maybe I got a little more lean/ripped but it was so subtle that it's hard for me to say. So it's possible that it helped burn off a bit of fat.

Warning
- Hidden in the bottle warnings is something along these lines: "Do not take these if you are more than 20 pounds overweight".
Since that wasn't obvious before anyone purchasing this product, I wanted to warn people. It doesn't say what will happen or what are the dangers of it, but it still makes you uneasy to read that despite being in good shape.

Overall I just cannot recommend this product. It is possible that it helps you slim down a bit, but in terms of giving energy, or keeping more awake, or feeling like I could work out more or anything like that, I simply did not work for me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Worth a Try, Maybe, September 26, 2010
This review is from: Vpx Sports / Redline Ultra Hardcore, 120 Liqrush Caps Bottle (Health and Beauty)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
After my experience, I was ready to type a quick review that said, basically, "Don't bother." But after reading some of the other reviews, combined with my experience, I think it's fair to pile on to a couple of the good things mentioned.

First, let me stress that I like VPX products. I have tried several and have found them effective. They had a little stretch with one caplet product that melted during shipment and the capsules actually fused together like one giant styrofoam ball. That was a low point for sure--I bring up this because, although I like their products, they've been known to have their misses.

I found this product to be one of those misses. I didn't feel much of an impact. Capsule products like this are great--compared to the drink products--when traveling, but the gel, or Liqrush, products don't travel well. Often when traveling, I'll dose out vitamins and supplements for my trip into an easily packable bottle or bag, but the liqrush products need to be stored separately or else they dry out. Therefore, I think the product has to be more effective than others (or super cost-efficient) to justify the extra packing space.

This product is neither superior or cost-effective. But, two things mentioned in other reviews support, in my opinion, at least considering giving this a try. These kinds of products do amp up irritability or edginess and this one seems to indeed level that. It could be that the reason I didn't feel that way was that it simply wasn't effective, but another review that talked about its long-lasting effect hit me as well. I mentioned that I didn't feel much of an impact, but I did feel it and it was there a few hours later.

In my view, if you utilize another product and are marginally pleased with it, don't switch to this. If you catch a great deal on this somewhere, maybe on an "expires in 30 days" shelf at GNC, try it then and decide. Supplements are too expensive to get stuck with a dud and I think this is, at least, a borderline dud.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for me, August 19, 2010

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I was pretty excited to see this product. In general, I tolerate stimulants very well, and I was just expanding my exercise program and looking to lose a few pounds.

However, after a couple weeks of healthy, moderate eating, 1-2 hours a day of exercise, and one of these pills every morning, I am going to stop taking the pills. (The diet and exercise are not particularly new, just resumed after a period of stress and travel.) Bodies are, of course, very complex and my results could have nothing whatsoever to do with the VPX supplement. Still, this is what I've experienced:

- no more energy than before (possibly less because I cut back on coffee, out of concern for caffeine overload)
- feeling generally bad overall
- gained one pound (!!!)

I must say, they are *really* cool looking pills. I hope they work better for others!

Note: I do have issues with maintaining proper blood pressure, so perhaps the yohimbe is giving me trouble, like other reviewers have mentioned.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting product, August 19, 2010
This review is from: Vpx Sports / Redline Ultra Hardcore, 120 Liqrush Caps Bottle (Health and Beauty)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I'm not into taking any sorts of pills other than an occasional vitamin or supplement, losing weight is not going to happen from taking any of this unless one exercises, it can help the work out or stamina but you do have to sweat yourself ..that said, these aren't bad, even though they look very space age and alien like hehe. The first time I took this I was a bit scared, but it gave me a clear rush, like drinking coffee but brighter and sharper, I felt very alert and was able to do a lot of work without the usual morning crankiness. The curious thing is that after the initial first day of trying this I haven't felt the same awake feeling when I take them now, but I'm horrible at remembering to take these things so I use it here and there, without any real schedule, everything in moderation is my motto.

If you need an energy boost, these do work, as per weight loss it might help some but I wouldn't substitute it for good old exercise and a lean and balanced diet.
