Great follow-up to Icky Mettle,
By hamilcar barca (nowheres in particular) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vs. the Greates of All Time (Audio CD)
This EP length follow-up to Icky Mettle is nearly as good. The first two songs alone, "Audiowhore" and "The Lowest Part is Free", make it worth purchase. While they have made catchier songs that "Audiowhore", this is the one best shows off their amazng sense of dynamics. Now, they have probably NOT made a catchier song than "Lowest Part is Free." This one is just a perfect 2 and half minute burst of noisy indie-rock. Their lyrics are always strange and disjointed, but fit in well with the songs, so you can't really fault them for it. While I'm not a huge fan of the last few songs on the disc, I think it is worth the purchase price for just the 1st two songs.

Archers of Loaf at their best ...,
This review is from: Vs. the Greates of All Time (Audio CD)
This has to be one of the best EPs I have heard. The first three tracks are just typical Archers at their very best. Plenty of power and melody, I just wish I had a chance to see them before they broke up.
