5.0 out of 5 stars Kept my 16 month old occupied for 3-hour road trip!!!, January 1, 2005
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Vtech Baby Call & Count Phone (Toy)
This phone is amazing. She recently got it on Christmas from my mother-in-law and she LOVES it! The day after Christmas, we took a 3-hour road trip to visit more family and the phone kept my 16 month old occupied for the entire THREE HOUR road trip! And she is in that phase where she gets bored of things VERY easily so I was amazed when this phone kept her occupied for the entire time.

PROS:

Just big enough for babies hands

Buttons aren't too hard to press

How many "modes" are there? Too many for me to count!

Colorful

Voice is easy to understand (doesn't sound like a talking-computer!)

Lights up

Teaches colors, numbers, plays music, "talks" to baby, rings like a phone...

Has mirror to play "peak-a-boo" (one of my daughters favorites)

SO STURDY! My little girl is very rough with her toys and this one, although new, has already been dropped MANY times and is still working perfectly! The plastic is VERY hard and durable and everything seems to be made extrememly well- none of the buttons have "shifted" or poped out, the plastic doesn't chip, the music and everything still plays perfectly!

But most importantly... my daughter LOVES it! I have a feeling this one will be around for a while.

CONS

Hmm.... none! I just wish I'd found it sooner! :-P

I highly recommend this toy to anyone!

This phone is soooo cool! We got it for our 9 month old daughter and she loves it! Every time we give it to her she laughs out loud forever! I couldn't get over how articulate and clear the sounds, voices, and words are. Blue, red, yellow, numbers, etc. They are all spoken perfectly and not slurred or mumbled. I just wouldn't believe how far toys have come! The mirror in the phone is not one of the plastic, blurry ones. However, it is very safe inside its plastic shell. This phone has been dropped a lot and its still going strong! Very cool toy! I would definetly buy/recommend this phone again!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great toy, November 17, 2004

Unlike many other toys, this was an instant hit with my then 7 months old son. I think the advantage was that this phone could be easily manipulated by little clumsy hands into making the sounds and the lights go on. In other words, it doesn't require much precision, concentration or strenght in a child's fingers to make it sing and light up because of the big buttons. Now he is 8 months old and he enjoys it even more. It is a little bit bulky and heavy but my son can hold it ok. It's also been dropped and banged many many times with no damage so far. One of the best buys so far. The batteries lasted about a month or a month and a half.
