First the negative - this is a very loud toy that does not have any sort of volume control. However, your child will be entertained by the varieties of songs and animal sounds that come from this interactive "zoo". Better yet, there is a small control nob that will make a monkey move and dance. You can see the features in the video, and you can imagine the smile's on your child's smile. In terms of safety, there are no small parts or sharp corners.

Features

- A small cylinder with number 1-3 that triggers a blurb about turtles

- A Toucan

- The dancing monkey

- Giraffe, Elephant, Penguin, and Parrot keys

- A light that blinks with each song and sound.

Final verdict - A toy that will be smiles to children ages 6-24 months. I know that our daughter loves it!

My 6 month old will play with this toy for a few minutes before getting bored, so that's pretty good. She loves music and colorful things and this toys has both. I don't think this toy is educational though. It's very overwhelming with noises so I can't see how anyone can focus on learning or understanding what is going on while playing with the toy. There is also no volume control and it hurts my ears, so it's probably too loud for my babies ears too. I'm going to put tape over the speaker holes to see if that helps. The toy has 2 settings, one setting I never use since there is a man's voice that says very annoying things. The other setting plays sound effects and tunes, and is much more tolerable. I gave this toy 4 stars because my baby does like it and it's safe for her to play with and chew on. If it wasn't so loud and the man's voice wasn't so annoying, it would have earned 5 stars!

This toy is so very, very obnoxiously annoying. You just don't know. This is the Fran Drescher of baby toys. If it actually taught my daughter something or entertained her for more than 5 minutes, I might be able to get over it. But it has very few redeeming factors in my eyes. It has a single yellow light that flashes just because, I guess to get their attention but it's not really integrated with the design of the toy like most others, it's just...there. The vocals aren't particularly clear / articulate to babies with emerging language skills. Frankly, I see very, very little educational value in this toy, it's mostly for entertainment, so don't buy it expecting your kid to learn something other than how to rhyme "feet" with "feet" (oh no they di-ent). It tips over constantly from having all the buttons up top and the edges are hard plastic which is not a good combination with a wobbly pre-walker who face-plants into the floor roughly every eleven and a half seconds. My daughter has fallen into this very hard toy many times unfortunately. But if you choose to get this toy anyway, be prepared to hum "I'm a great big elephant, stomping here, stomping there" in the company of adults who have no idea your very soul has been infected with the obnoxious, repetitive "lyrics" of this malevolent device. On the day this toy is retired, I shall dance like a monkey and laugh laugh laugh.

I gave this toy to my 15-month-old daughter to play with in the store while I shopped. Usually I put the toy back when I'm done shopping, but this one was a keeper. The joystick controls the movements of the monkey, and the different buttons play some very tolerable, pleasant, catchy baby tunes. It also has animal sounds. Everything on the toy does something, and what I love most is that it doesn't have detachable pieces that could get taken away from the "base toy" and leave the thing useless if you can't find the pieces you need. It is fairly small so you won't have to rearrange things to fit it in with the rest of your child's toys. Worth the money!

This is the second vtech toy that we have for our son that has wiring issues (the first was the vtech crazy legs ladybug). The toy's sound gets stuck on a loop where a song begins, plays for about 3-5 seconds, then starts over (repeating endlessly). My son really loves playing with this toy, and it's very cute. We loved it as well...until the sound issues popped up. The toy is just not durable enough for a 1 year old (or 9 month old, for that matter; that's when we got both toys). I would love to recommend this toy, but the poor construction warrants 2 stars or less.

First let me say when i got this i thought - - how can this thing be any fun, but apparently to a baby it is :)

Pros:
-Great cause and effect toy for your baby to learn
-Keeps them entertained (or at least our son for a good period of time)
-Music or talking option
-Good size for even smaller babies (6 month old)
-Great high chair toy

Cons:
-smaller children can pull it over
-Rubber feet would help it from sliding around the floor or highchair

My 22 month old and 8 month old both love this toy. While he is playing with the monkey, she is hitting the buttons. Worth the money and it's not as loud/annoying as everyone is making it out to be. We have an alphabet speller that is WAY worse! Highly recommend this product!

My 8 month old son just received this toy yesterday for Christmas. It is by far his favorite!!! He sits next to it and just presses the buttons to hear all the sounds and songs as he plays with his other toys. My 8 year old and I have been singing these songs all day. I must say, though, I have never heard a louder baby toy. If I had read these reviews before actually hearing it I would have thought these are just whiny "find fault in everything" moms, but this toy is SO FREAKIN' LOUD! The speaker is on the top, so I need to find a way to cover it that is safe for baby. My God, its playing right now, and I can't even think to type. WHY IS IT SO LOUD?!?!?

Both of my sons LOVED this toy...though as someone already wrote, very annoying to parents as the songs are loud and just plain annoying(the kind of tune that stays in your head). However, I will definetley take annoying if it keeps them busy which it did, even though it's as small as it is. This is the one toy that keeps my 1 yr 1 month old entertained for a good 15-20 minutes while I get cook dinner or get something done as he loves to be held all the time. In my opinion great buy, and actually bought one for my nephew for this Christmas.

So at the moment this is my sons favorite toy, he seems to have the most interest in the monkey, he pretty much beats it up kicks it like a maniac, the sounds and songs are good, there are even lights in the toy, the roller with turtles on it speeds up or slows down the songs depending on how fast you roll it. Downside its loud but keep them entertained for awhile.
