My wife and I bought this for our oldest daughter for Christmas. She's four and loved the movie upon which this game is based. Although it isn't her favorite v-smile game, she quite enjoyed it nonetheless. As parents, my wife and I found this game a little more challenging for our daughter in terms of its education value.

Probably the most educational game is in the market where Ariana must find different items on a shopping list and then count the number of each particular item needed. There are a number of other great games that involve counting and expanding a child's vocabulary. These are probably the two educational strengths of this particular game, as a child the age towards which this game is intended (4 to 6 years) is probably already familiar with matching and colors -- the other two strengths of this game.

We really enjoy this 'smartridge'. It was given to my daughter as a gift. She loves princesses and this is total princess girly. The games are not too difficult for a young child to play.

I will say though that I think there are two things that make this game maybe a low five or a very high four as opposed to a high five rating. First- this game is probably the least educational one that I have seen to date. For example, there is one game where you dress Ariel and this is supposed to teach color recognition and matching. Really, it is a form of vicarious dress up. Second- Many of the games seem to focus a lot on colors and this is something most children at this age already know. I would have preferred something a bit more challenging.

Otherwise, this game is fun and educational. The games are easy and fun and very girly girly. My young daughter found it fairly easy to operate with little direction from me.

Well worth the money.

My daughter absolutely loves this game. It is more challenging than some of the other, but not too hard for a 4 year old. This game is not as educational as some of the others, but is great for math/counting skills. If your daughter loves Aerial ahe will love dressing her up in hats, and jewelery, and love helping her shop in the market for different fruits an vegetables. I think this one is great,

My daughter also loves The Little Mermaid movie so naturally, I got her this game to go with her vsmile. It was too advanced for my 5 year old but she plays it nonetheless. Her older sister sits with her and helps her out when she gets stuck.The game was worth the money because my daughter enjoys it and will learn from it as she gets older. Nice compliment to her schoolwork in PreK too.

We bought this cartridge because Ariel is my 4 1/2 yr old daughter's favorite princess. The game does not hold her interest, I think it may be a bit too difficult for her at this time. For now she prefers "Lion King" and the smartridge that came with the V-Smile. I hope they will make more games/learning cartridges for the system.

This seems to be my daughter's new favorite game. I agree education is not its strong point, but sometimes kids just have to have fun. The fact that it is cute and non-violent is enough. It keeps her occupied long enough for me to get dinner together and that makes me happy!

Excellent game. My 5 year old daughter loves this game. It was easy for her to figure out and play. We have most of the Vsmile games and this one is her favorite.

Alot of these v smile games have really crappy graphics, this ones not so bad and out of all the games in this age range, it's one of her favorites. I purchased the v smile for her for Christmas along with about 7 games. My only mistake was to give them all to her at once. As with any 4 year old, who is having their first game system experience, she would play a game for a minute or two and then get discouraged and put in another. I had to take them all away and let her choose one game to play per day. Whichever game she chose for that day was the only one she got no matter how hard she found it. That did the trick, she learned how to play all of them in this manner and now I let her choose as she pleases. These are great games for the age group, this one in particular.

I was a little disapointed in the Little mermaid game because my daughter wizzed through the whole game in about an hour and I was affraid she would get bored of it very quickly. I am very happy to say that she absolutely loves this games and plays it over and over and doesn't mind, so five stars from me!!!

I purchased this game, The little Mermaid for my 4 1/2 year old daughter. She became frustrated when she had a hard time moving Ariel with the joystick underwater, Ariel moves very slow. She became bored with this game and did not find the games to be fun or challenging.
