En cuanto a la calidad de sonido es superior. Este trabajo musical es mejor que su primera prduccion musical colocandose como uno de los mejores artistas Dominicanos. Estoy muy contento de que desues de tres anos regrese con una produccion sin igual. VIVI MI PAIS, REPUBLICA DOMINICANA

I have had the pleasure of listening to both of ChiChi's cds and I love them both. This one, however, has reached deep into my soul. The distinctive rhythms and sounds displayed in his music clearly show what an artist he really is.

...and listen to this brilliant, soul moving, and magnificent effort. Chichi has done it again! With his De Vuelta Al Barrio Chichi captures the sounds of Latin American and flips them upside down to give us a new sound of his own creation called Fuson. In his very own style Chichi also combines world sounds (Indian and Arabic)and adds a latin flavour. But it's not just the rhythms and music that will conquer your heart for the lyrics beautifully shape the songs. Nostalgic, heart-broken, and love-giving the songs together form a story: Us growing up and remembering the little things that we've forgotten. If you have an ear that is not afraid of something that's contagious, of something that will scratch your past experiences, and something that will show a new world of experience then I highly recommend De Vuelta Al Barrio.

3 and a half stars if that rating were possible. This is mostly a very good CD, well worth a listen, and it grows on you too.

My initial reaction, comparing it to "Pa' Otro La'o", was slight disappointment, but I think it has to be recognised that that CD was something very special indeed and would be hard to emulate (anybody starting with Chichi Peralta should buy that one rather than this).

His arrangements are always exciting and inventive, and really shine on many tracks with surprises around every corner. Occasionally,things become a bit cluttered, and I found the American light soully feel of some of the singing watered down some of the Latin spirit.

Certainly, Jandy Feliz (singer and songwriter on the first CD) is missed, both for his distinctive voice and his more melodic, catchy songwriting - he and Chichi combined made an unbeatable team, but there is still some great music on here.

Chichi Peralta is one of the most talented, creative Latin musicians around and maintains his high standard here, while perhaps not quite matching the heights of his brilliant first CD.

ONCE AGAIN CHICHI PERALTA+SON FAMILIA WORKED THEIR BEST TO BRING OUT ONE OF THE MOST ENJOYABLE CD OF THE YEAR , DE VUELTA AL BARRIO (BACK IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD) A COLLECTION OF BEAUTIFULL SONGS MADE BY ONE OF LATIN'S MOST TALENTED ARTIST , CHICHI PERALTA MADE HISTORY IN 1997 WITH HIS DEBUT ALBUM PA' OTRO'LAO AND NOW IS GOING TO MAKE IT AGAIN ,JUST BY LISTENING TO ONE OF THE ALBUM SONGS YOU CAN ADMIRE ALL THE RYTHM , LYRICS AND WORK PUT ON EVERY SONG SPECIALLY THE SONG 'HASTA QUE LO PIERDE', I JUST LOVE THIS SONG AND ALL OF THE OTHER ONES. THAT'S WHY I'LL RECOMEND THIS CD TO ANYONE WHO ENJOY LISTENING TO GOOD MUSIC .AND NOW I ONLY HAVE TWO THINGS TO SAY :IF YOU LIKED PA'OTRO'LAO YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE 'DE VUELTA AL BARRIO',DON'T THINK IT TWICE IT IS WORHT IT.

There are no words to describe how good this cd is , I mean I just love it , I listen to it everyday since I got it , I love the songs:DE VUELTA AL BARRIO ,HASTA QUE LO PIERDE, SOLEDAD and my favorite FUEGO DE AMOR, all of the rythm and lyrics tells me how hard Chichi and his crew including the Londres sinfonic orchersta worked to make this cd the best cd of the year. And now I only have two things to say, if you liked PA OTRO LAO , you are going to love DE VUELTA AL BARRIO.

This Cd from Chichi Peralta is pretty good as the other Cd's that I owned, he has different rhythm in every song.
Este cd de Chichi Perlta es muy bueno, es igual que los otros Cd's que yo tengo, en este Cd cada canicon tiene un ritmo differente.

I love this album! After waiting for more than 2 years I am very pleased with the different rythims on this album. The creation and dancable music. I love the singers voice and congratulate ChiChi Peralta for his work. To anyone who wants to enjoy the flavor and sounds of the caribbean I reccomend this album to all music lovers not just spanish speaking ones. Wonderful album. I particularily like De Vuelta al barrio.

This is basically a boring CD. I have "Pa'otro lado" and loved it, it still mesmerises me; nearly every track on it is a winner, or at least catchy. I only wish I could say the same about "De vuelta al barrio". I think it should've been entitled "Devuelveme al basurero".

The tracks on this CD lack the punchy beat of the first one. There is a smothering uniformity across the songs and they lack the distinctiveness that marked songs such as "Limon con sal" and "Me enamore" on the first CD. There is a "sameness" about this CD that is disappointing.

I have trouble even listening to this CD, it is dull. Chichi, me encanto tu primer compacto. Vuelve al estudio para grabar otro compacto igualmente de bueno. Este nuevo pertenece en el basurero.

After the sheer enjoyment I got of his previous work, "Pa' Otro La'o", I had high hopes for this album. Alas, those hopes are mashed; most tracks are muddled and uninspiring, with a few interesting flashes here and there that hardly justifiy the purchase. More noticeably, not a single track has the "pull you to the dance floor" feel that was almost everywhere in the previous debut. This "fuson" stuff is for the birds.

Turns out this shouldn't be surprising; the creator of key anchor tracks in the previous effort ("Amor Narcotico", "Pa' Otro La'o", "Un Dia Mas", "Procura", and "Limon con Sal", fully half of the record and almost every hit), Jandy Feliz, who was also the vocalist, is no longer with the group, reportedly because of differences with Peralta over getting greater credit for hiswork. And it shows.

Boy, does it show. The album is a pale shadow of the debut. Save your money and spend it on "Pa' Otro La'o" instead.
