5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant pop album from the best mexican pop band!
I was shocked when I found out that after only two singles, Kabah were ending the promotion for "La Vida Que Va" and they were going to release a new album. 3.0 out of 5 stars A mid-dissapointment
In no less than a year of their latest Cd, La Vida Que Va, we have a new Kabah album and I found it to be quite weak from the latter one. This new one is more ballad and pop than La Vida's energetic techno and trance. Buy only if a complete Kabah fan like me, but can forgive the supposed change and new tunes.

I was shocked when I found out that after only two singles, Kabah were ending the promotion for "La Vida Que Va" and they were going to release a new album. "La Vida Que Va" is a very strong album with lots of potential singles, so they should definitely have something in their hands to move on so quickly from that project. Now I can see why. "La Vuelta Al Mundo" is as catchy as "La Vida Que Va" but it changes the dance sound for a more guitar based production.

Don't be afraid, Kabah's brand of pop is still very much here and they even have a heavily electronic sounding track ("Ser De Aire") but they are taking a more mature approach to pop this time.

"Por Ti" is the lead off single, although it's far from being the best cut here. My favorites are "Florecitas" (think alternative-meets-pop), "Tiempo" (midtempo track that pays homage to ABBA, sampling "Money Money Money"), "Ser De Aire" (I already mentioned this one), "La Vuelta Al Mundo" (gorgeous ballad) and the theme song for Big Brother 2 Mexico, "El Complot".

This is a great pop record and if you can't speak Spanish, don't worry, the catchy melodies speak for themselves.

*** Highly recommended!! ***

PS: Also check their previous album, "La Vida Que Va".

5.0 out of 5 stars What are you waiting for?!, August 23, 2003
This review is from: Vuelta Al Mundo (Mcup) (Audio CD)
Ok Come on now everyone...if you don't know who these guys are by now well...then you need to listen to this stuff. It's time for the mainstream success, I mean they are huge in many parts of Latin America but we can still make them big eveywhere else, specially here in the US.
"La vuelta al mundo" is by far their best effort yet (personally I think it shows a new approach into pop music). I came to my surprise that this album was released so soon (after about a year of "La vida que va" another smash hit album), but I was very surprised to find a more down to earth, intelligent lyrics, great arrangements on this new cd. Outstanding tracks are: Saltaras al mar, Azul profundo, Fue lo que sera; all of these for their catchiest pop tunes and sticky lyrics. But you also get the edgy Florecitas and Ser de aire, awesome songs with totally opposite arrangements each of them. The biggest track for me (the only ballad too) is the title track, showing a blend of beautiful vocals from the Kabah girls!
Now if you think pop is boring, overproduced, then Kabah will prove you wrong. Accept this challenge and be awaken to this kind of music.
And if any of you Kabah's ever read this, do us all a favor and keep doing music like this, we love you!

5.0 out of 5 stars El Mejor Album del Mejor Grupo, March 14, 2003
This review is from: Vuelta Al Mundo (Mcup) (Audio CD)

5.0 out of 5 stars Thier best dance album!, January 29, 2005

This review is from: Vuelta Al Mundo (Mcup) (Audio CD)
Not too long after the release of thier album "La Vida Que Va", Kabah is back with a brand new album. While "La Vuelta" doesn't have any major smash hits like "La Vida Que Va" (the song), it contains a lot more quality tracks as opposed to "La Vida.."

1. Por Ti (2/5) - First single off the album. Fast tempo. I don't particularly like the opening vocals. I don't listen to this one much.

2. Florecitas (5/5) - Another single. Has that teen rock-pop feeling, but I really love it! The chorus is especially well sung! One of my favorites.

3. Big Brother - "El Complot" (4/5) - The theme to MExico's "Big Brother." Kind of a disco-dance feeling. The lyrics are a tad cheesy and the overall feeling as well. Still worth a listen.

4. Tiempo (4/5) - I'm not sure this is a single release or not, but I've heard it played at restaurants. I like the way this one starts off (especially the version that has the vocals softly singing at the beginning - not found on this album -_-). Like "Big Brother," this one has a disco beat to it, but not as fast as Big Brother. Another thing that bugs me is at the end, the chorus repeats itself over and over. I lost count.

5. La Vuelta al Mundo (4/5) - A ballad. Has a nice, kind of lullaby-like tune. What stands out most for me are the lyrics, though.

6. Fue lo que sera (3/5) - Another disco-beat song. This one doesn't stand out too much among the other tracks, but still worth a listen once in a while. Sometimes I listen to it.

7. Ser de aire (5/5) - This one will remind you of thier previous album. It has a euro/trance like feeling (moreso trance). The lyrics are nicely song and the vocals equally well done, especially the chorus. I highly recommend this one!

8. Azul Profundo (5/5) - I like the way this one starts out. It's somewhat of a ballad but a little faster. I like the lyrics and especially the chorus. However, this one also has a bit of a repetitive chorus at the end. It's ok, though because the song is good. Another favorite.

9. Dia tras dia (1/5) - I don't like this song at all. Too weird and too slow. Has nothing that stands out from other songs.

10. De ti sere (4/5) - Has a big 80s feel to it, in my opinion. Doesn't stand out much either. I like the song, however. Worth a listen.

11. Saltaras al mar (3/5) - Fast paced euro-style song. I feel, though, that this song has no real direction and that it's just the same beat going and no real chorus.

All in all, even the fillers are pretty good (can't say the same about "La Vida Que Va") so I highly recommend this album. This one is thier best to date! Oh, and word has it that they are releasing one more album and then disbanding :( How sad. Get your hands on this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Original lyrics and Grat music, December 27, 2003

This review is from: Vuelta Al Mundo (Mcup) (Audio CD)
Kabah made a surprise return with La Vuelta al Mundo after only one year of La Vida que Va; This CD was produced fast, they only had a couple of days to write the lyrics for all the songs, except Big Brother(EL COMPLOT), but they did an excellet job on them. The lyrics are over all excellent, and the calm rythym that takes apart this CD from the rest of KABAH's makes you want to listen to it over and over again. With out any doubt KABAH shows once again there great talent as singers, composers and now in this CD they even go involved with a little of the producing.

I would recomend you to buy all off their six albums realised so far:
KABAH (only sold in Mexico)
La Calle de las Sirenas
Esperanto
XNE
La Vida que Va
La Vuelta al Mundo

If you are not a loyal fan ok Kabah YET, start of with Vida que VA, personally I think that that cd is their best one. However Vuelta al mundo stands on its own for being original and displays a more mature approach to pop for this Latin group's sensational music and rhythm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, September 11, 2007
This review is from: Vuelta Al Mundo (Mcup) (Audio CD)
Kabah decided to exit the world of music with this CD. It's a great cd and it reminds you of all the other great CDs they had offer us. Now we are going to follow Maria Jose career --- going solo and her first CD is a her own style that will place her on the map.
