W. D. Gann Treasure Discovered: Simple Trading Plans for Stocks & Commodities (Book and DVD)

My title is given after the fact that this book is different from others that I have been reading. The reason why it is different is because this book contains much more graphics then text for reading. Basically this book has 3 different parts: The first introductory (using simple basic tools), than the second part with more advanced rules (this part the author doubles the amount of rules to run the trades) and finally a third part where the author just mention some more advanced rules to manage your trading skills. The reason I said this book is different it is because Robert Krausz believes (and he wrote that on his book) that the best form to learn is by repetition, since this is the best way to tell our brain that the method we are working on it WORKS, and if we do not believe in the system of trading, we are going to fail. So he wrote this book with 80% or 90% or charts and a few pages of text, where he explains the rules. But the rules are very briefly explained, and that is because he inserts so many charts on his book. Those charts contain all the entries and exits along the position of each trade. So what the reader has to do is to read over and over the rules and check those rules over those charts. In the beginning it is pretty difficult, but after you checked some 3 or 4 charts you begin to memorize it. It is like if a teacher gave in the first 15 minutes the theory and then later he dedicated the time left to exercise that theory. That is how this book is written. He takes some 3 stocks or treasures as examples for charting and for each one he plots some 3 or 4 years of daily bars. And after reading so many charts, in the end you will have memorized the whole book, with all the management rules for trading. How this book is written is remarkable because it teaches you. It is not a book to read! It is a book to study and make the exercises. Those are already with the answers, but by understanding each answer you became familiar with his methodology. It is a very mechanical methodology that he teaches, and if you don't like mechanical systems of trading this book probably won't interest you because it is what it is all about: mechanical trading. The DVD that comes along shows Robert Krausz in his office explaining a few parts of his book. It is necessary because sometimes just reading the rules might leave you with a few doubts, and by watching the 60 minutes DVD, live, might clear that doubt regarding that particular rule, since we explains rule by rule, briefly in his DVD. And I gave 4 stars and not 5 because this book has many mistakes, but if you really study the book, you will notice them and will see that they don't matter. It is a great book. Ones of my best!

I had the good fortune of going to his seminars in Australia and then to a private course of his in Ft. Lauderdale at his home . He is the first and only person who taught me all about trading , not just analysis ... TRADING .
So I advise people to grab this book and test it before lamenting the poverty of content and appearance of pages and charts .
I would be remiss if I did not give credit to the person who TAUGHT Robert Krausz and that is Charles Drummond of Drummond Geometry whose course I have also taken and recommend.

These two are real teachers of trading , 100% of the others are mere writers for profit !

I got excited about the author from the New Market Wizards book - unfortunately this book is very poorly written...Many parts of the trading plan were not clear - that makes it all unusable...The video was no better...Kind of scrapped together....The author is passed away for some time so you can't send him questions.
Waste of $175 unfortunately...And more importantly about 8 hours trying to figure it out...Well like any good trader after 8 hours - I cut my (time) losses short...
I am almost 100% certain this author meant well - but he did not pull it off...
Amazon should pull this one off shelves - the publisher is ripping the public off on this one.
Too bad.

This is not W.D Gann's treasure. His work is much more than this. And he will angry if he still alive. Please rename this book as "3-days Moving Average Trading Strategy".
