I love this album! It has inspired me a great deal to follow my dreams and break down walls. It's the most unique music I have ever heard; yet I find myself singing the lyrics to the songs day and night. When I listen to W.O.M.B.'s music it takes me on a journey to places within myself that I have forgotten about, and gives me a sense of hope for the world. I feel like I am involved somehow in the creative process when I listen to W.O.M.B., I guess that's why they call it "Kinetic music for the people". The creativity and talent on the album is mind blowing, and I think W.O.M.B.'s music is truly awesome. It's just what this world needs, and I think W.O.M.B. should clone them selves over and over and over.

Kinetic music sang by all three women with creative artistic lyrics. It's refreshing to hear an all girls band for a change.
Energetic guitar playing, and great singing voices.
Their new album will be coming out soon this year!

W.O.M.B. is a sound I can't place. With 3 passionate vocals and musical theater-like execution- I can't help but be entertained. On top of this, the lyrics are charged with this political-playful-sexy verse. I wish I could pigeon-hole this group to describe the music, but I can't-they call it "kinetic". The songs shift from composed/produced tracks like "Freakin'" and "Buried Alive" to completely raw, one instrument, one-take songs like "Ghostrider" and "No Signal". They go from a song about sex ("Muse Oven") to a song about Halloween ("Halloween") to a song about the government assasinating our leaders ("Shoot Me")- yet the whole compilation works together because it's not trying to be anything else. It's very peculiar and I find myself singing their songs.

The range of voice (!!) and intrumentation alone on this c.d. make it impressive. Add to that superb production quality and amazing song writing, and this is a phenomenal first-release.
I wouldn't be able to do justice to the passionate and beautiful singing, so I'm not even going to try. Same goes for the instrumentation. Instead, I thought I'd comment on a specific track that highlights what I appreciate about this music in a way that those who may not have heard it might be able to understand.
The do an interpretation of "The Sound of Silence" that is excellent. I always liked the original, but its pervading mood is one of world-weariness, and a retreat/withdrawl into the darkness and "sound of silence." W.O.M.B.'s interpretation is startling and refreshing. Opposed to a weary retreat, the delivery of voice, the tempo and over-all mood speak of an almost child-like, playful engagement with that silence and darkness. The opening lines somehow evoke the magic of childhood's possibilities and love of the imaginary.
That same sense pervades much of this c.d. for me, and it's a thoroughly enjoyable experience. At the same time, proper gravity is given to both music and voice in tracks like "Shoot Me," which seems to me to be about more than governments at root--more like the struggle of Love to survive in this world. But this gravity never gets mired in a self-indulgent gnashing of teeth that seems all too common. All in all a remarkable balance is maintained. Besides which, it is again just really enjoyable music... I find myself mentally replaying these songs alot.
Can't wait for their next release.
