Enter the Wonderful World of WO'K, December 2, 2007
This review is from: W.O'K's Weird Wacky Wonderful World: The Art of William O'Keefe (Perfect Paperback)
What fun to become drawn into the world of William O'Keefe, in James R. Holland's finely rendered portrait of a Boston artist. Visually, the book is rich with WO'Ks masterful, sometimes erotic, fantastical imagery. The accompanying story brings the artist's engaging personality into play, and highlights his sense of humor and love of expression.
As we enter his Beacon Hill studio, a magical world and the prolific genius who created these works are revealed. His paintings produce strong reactions, and at the end of the book, the strong feeling is one of appreciation for his life and art. As enjoyable a read in a wonderfully beautiful book as one could imagine.
