did not notice a change,
This review is from: ThermaClear Acne Treatment Device (Health and Beauty)
I purchased this item and used it faithfully however I really did not notice a difference in my skin. Auctually the device that I had kept shutting off on me and I had to get a new one ( which I am returning in the 30 day trial). However I must say that the customer service for ThermaClear are great. They got righ back to me and were anxious to hear about the problem I was having. I would recomend that you try it for your self and have no fear that if you don't like it you can just return it

Pimple Free,

I've had this product for a few months and have used it repeatedly. It uses a split second of high heat to get rid of the pimple before it gets a chance to erupt, so like another user wrote, it's best to get them when they first start. The little "zap" you get from it is alarming at first but you get used to it after the first or second time. When I see a blemish, I give it a couple of zaps a day and I've either had the pimple completely go away or erupt much faster, hence speeding up the whole zit-red area-tell-tale spot on my face process.

Didn't live up to my expectation,

Thermaclear just didn't work well for me. I don't have serious acne, just the occasional breakout. I used as directed (and sometimes more), yet it doesn't seem to help. Plus, it's kind of painful - I still have to force myself to press the zap button.

This really works,

I got one of these as a gift before my wedding, and it really worked. I started getting a pimple for the rehearsal dinner on Friday, zapped it a few times, and it was imperceptible by the wedding on Sunday. Since then I've learned it works best if you use it right when you start to feel a pimple coming on...ThermaClear has actually stopped them from turning into a full-blown...thing. It stops ME from popping them, too, which is gross, I know, but it's true and it's important! I know this will work, so I zap before I pop. Now I wouldn't be without it.

Jury still out for me, not a miracle so far,

I don't really have a bad acne problem on my face, if anything, I get it more on my body from sweat and in spots where my bra straps are. But, I do on occasion get a run of the mill zit here and there on my chin or face. I decided to buy it upon seeing it because I just could not invest into a Zeno and have to deal with replacement tips if it did not work well. I had this about a month, not really that impressed. Some of my body acne comes in the form of the really large, under the skin kind, which I realize it may not be best for. But, small ones on my face, I gotta say, it really didn't make much of a dent or prevent any from erupting further, so, I can say I have not seen much of a miracle for me. I used it on one I felt coming on right away and its now full blown, will be curious to see what it does now that its here, but prevent it from becoming full blown, nope. Also, I had some smaller zits on my shoulders and I really could not tell if they went away from time or due to this unit. The jury is still out, I think it might help me a tad, but not a miracle unit. Its nice that you don't have any tips to deal with, time will tell, glad it works for some. Really not wonderful for me, and, I have a high tolerance for pain and even I dread the zap on some spots, its a jolt a times so if you are a sissy - beware!!! If I worked, I would say the short pain is worth it, so far I am not doing backflips over my results with any of my issues. Bummer.....
Months later........ Have had a few different kind of flare ups, don't get them too often thank goodness, but device still seems like it does not really make any noticable change to me, no matter what the type of blemish it is. I am sure to catch it as soon as I feel it coming on and no luck. Even very small ones, so I am baffled as to where people are seeing this miracle fix, in a few cases, I seemed to have a worse time with use. I follow the timeframe and useage guide and no miracles to report here. It seemed to good to be true. Glad its helping someone, if I could get my $150 back I would return.

Doesn't work and it hurts bad,

I received this product as a gift. After using it, I felt people needed to know a couple things about it. First, I could not hold the Thermaclear on my face for more than 1 second because it hurt so bad (it felt like I was being shocked)! Afterwards, I found out through a USA Today Article that it heats up to over 200+ Degrees (not safe!)! Needless to say, it did not get rid of my pimple (it got worse) and I had a red mark on my face for over a week. I do not recommend this product.

It actually will speed up the healing time if you catch the pimple early but otherwise I didnt notice that much of a difference for already existing pimples. It is also a little painful. Not too much that you cant take it but it is definatly jarring when you use it, especially in sensitive areas

Works well, in just a few days. The "zap" does take a little getting used to, but no beauty without pain, right? No drugs involved. just 2 AA batteries. I Stopped the tetracycline the dr had ordered and which was doing absolutely no good. Very happy with this product!

Fast, effective, but sometimes painful,
This review is from: ThermaClear Acne Treatment Device (Health and Beauty)
Thermaclear did help my acne go away, it is easy to use, there is no need to recharge it, and batteries last a long time. The only drawback - thermaclear is painful to use around my mouth and eyes. But that's subjective...

Pretty useful,

This is a pretty useful albeit expensive machine. If used right when you feel a pimple coming on it helps to heal it much much quicker than if you just let it go and put some benzoyl peroxide on it. It works especially well if you combine it with a good regimen.
Customer service is also great with thermaclear. When mine stopped working 6 months in they paid they quickly paid for shipping of the defective unit back to them and shipped by UPS a brand new one for free, which really impressed me. It is a little painful, but its really worth it in the end for some peace of mind. Even though its not designed to be used for cystic acne, it does indeed help prevent it if the pimple is caught very early. However, I would recommend that severe cystic acne should still be treated by a licensced dermatologist. The real value is in treating those smaller pustules "aka the small red bumps that hurt", which it does very well. I have used both zeno and this product and while Zeno DOES work better, this one has many advantages: 1). Tip only needs to be replaced once a year saving a LOT of $$$$$ 2). treatment time is only 2 sec vs. 30 seconds per pustule with zeno (it adds up if you have a few). Overall i think its much better. |
