Wig Wam is a great Swedish melodic rock band.
Lisa A. Malmquist
You don't have to think too hard about songs like "OMG (I Wish I Had a Gun)," "Wrong Can Feel So Right" and "Natural High."
Justin G.
While I like their last two releases more than this one, this is still good.
C. Pedersen

Norwegian glam metal/party rock band Wig Wam is back with a new album, this one titled Wall Street. Lest you think Norway's premier party rockers have written a concept album about the global financial crisis, Wall Street is as much an exercise in social commentary as Warrant's Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich was, which is to say not at all.

Wall Street is, however, an over the top, bombastic rock n' roll album full of crazy huge guitar hooks, sing-along choruses and ridiculously catchy melodies - all of the things you expect from a Wig Wam album. The attitude is goofy and the lyrics are cheesy, but that's a big part of what makes these songs so much fun. You don't have to think too hard about songs like "OMG (I Wish I Had a Gun)," "Wrong Can Feel So Right" and "Natural High." You just need to crank up the volume and sing along, and that's something we all need from time to time.

Like Wig Wam's previous album (2010's Non Stop Rock & Roll), Wall Street is another small step away from the band's early sound. Still, it's a very solid, very entertaining melodic rock album, and if you still look fondly on the days when Warrant, Danger Danger and the Bulletboys ruled the radio, it's an album that ought to put a smile on your face.

Edition Notes: The MP3 version of Wall Street features an exclusive (and very rockin') cover of Alice Cooper's "School's Out" as a bonus track.

"Wall Street" is the brand new fourth studio album by Norwegian glam metal/melodic hard rock sensation "Wig Wam", marking their second release under "Frontiers Records". Starting from the cover artwork and album title "Wall Street" seems a far cry from its predecessor, the outrageous "Non Stop Rock'n' Roll" which was all about partying, attitude and kinkyness. No, "Wig Wam" have not gone all serious on their brand new album, simply they try a new form of humorous rock on "Wall Street"; indeed sarcasm is the name of the game for "Wig Wam" in 2012, which allows them to create a more diverse album than ever before.

"Wall Street" opens on its powerful title track, filled with irony, some great guitar riffs and melodies plus unforgettable vocal harmonies, followed by the vengeful riff-driven "Omg I wish I had a gun". Then comes "Victory is Sweet", easily amongst the greatest "Wig Wam" songs ever, a practical case where the group push themselves creatively in creating nothing less than a melodic rock anthem with big choir chouses, infectious guitar melodies and stimulating overall atmosphere. The mood changes considerably with the "Bigger the Better" which one could describe as the typical-and adorable- "Wig Wam" rock'n'roll song followed by the overly dramatic "Bleeding Daylights", which delivers another unexpected mood swing to "Wall Street", not to mention many more great vocal/guitar lines.

Overall the new "Wig Wam" album retains all the elements that made the quartet great in the past while evidently pushing the line-up into new melodic rock territories which actually makes for a very intriguing experience. As before, you can not go wrong with "Wig Wam".

This album is ok but compared to some of their earlier work, the songs lack the "hook" that draws you in. I'm not sure what they were aiming for with these songs. The Bigger The Better sounds like a Def Leppard track. Try My Body On sounds like a riff by Ratt or Firehouse with KISS lyrics. If you're a big Wig Wam fan, you'll be fine. If you're just trying them out, I would suggest their earlier efforts.

Not so long ago, I got to know who these guys were and since then Wig Wam have become one of my favorite bands. This new album is well done and has many catchy tracks as well as the other three. Rock on!

They play super catchy 80's hard rock. They don't care what anyone thinks and revel in it. It is fun and great for a light listen. While I like their last two releases more than this one, this is still good.
