More About the Author

Eoin Colfer (pronounced Owen) is the New York Times best-selling author
of the blockbuster Artemis Fowl series as well as Airman; Half Moon
Investigations; The Supernaturalist; Eoin Colfer's Legend of... books;
The Wish List; Benny and Omar; and Benny and Babe. He was born in
Wexford on the southeast coast of Ireland in 1965, where he and his four
brothers were brought up by his father (an elementary school teacher,
historian and artist of note) and mother (a drama teacher). He first
developed an interest in writing in primary (elementary) school with
gripping Viking stories inspired by history that he was learning in
school at the time.

Eoin got his degree from Dublin University and qualified as a primary
school teacher, returning to work in Wexford. He married in 1991 and he
and his wife spent about 4 years between 1992 and 1996 working in Saudi
Arabia, Tunisia and Italy. His first book, Benny and Omar, was published
in 1998, based on his experiences in Tunisia; it has since been
translated into many languages; a sequel followed in 1999. In 2001, the
first Artemis Fowl book was published worldwide to much success -
shortly thereafter he left teaching to concentrate fully on his writing.
To this day, Eoin has written 6 Artemis Fowl books which have sold over
12 million copies worldwide.

Just finished Hangman's Revolution. Vivid action, deliciously ludicrous scenarios, lovable and all too human characters. The circumstances under which love blooms still have me laughing. It is becoming apparent that Mr Colfer is an undisputed master at what he does. A GREAT author!
The other thing I like about this author is his books are often even better when read again. Just finished this book for the second time and laughed even more the this time.

It was entertaining. Not quite as good as the 1st one, but will definitely continue to read/listen to the series. Eoin Colfer writes with a tongue-in-cheek humor that is vastly entertaining!

I was a big fan of the author - I love his Artemis Fowl series and I enjoyed the first book of this series. But this book is quite a disappointment. Unlike his previous books, this one seems missing several critical elements. First of all, the plot was dull. I was not able to be excited about it. The recurring problems of the time travel (and the authors rather unsuccessful attempts to make it scientifically solid) seemed to show no originality left. The humor sounded too random. The characters were not developed fully and sometimes confusing; for example, two thundercats had no love between them from the beginning but suddenly in the end, one of them felt 'partnership' towards the other so refused to act against. I am sad but I did not enjoy this book as much as I hoped.

This book was immensely entertaining. It continues the story of Agent Chevron and her orphan sidekick Riley as they combat evils from the past while trying not to mess up the future timeline too much. The dark humor and compelling characters make this a great read. It is a little violent, but not as much as the Reluctant Assassin. The dynamic characters and interesting settings will keep you enthralled. This was a very good sequel to the Reluctant Assassin.

It took a few chapters to catch me, but I was glad I kept on reading. I enjoyed book 2 as much as the first book.
