I moved into my new apartment and had the worst allergies. I was taking medicine but I was still waking up every morning with a lot of mucous in my sinuses/throat/everywhere. So a friend told me about her salt crystal lamp and how it had helped her so I went ahead and bought this. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and no more allergies! This think is amazing! I was skeptical at first especially since it's electric but even after a couple days of use I noticed a huge improvement.

perfect gift. Creates romantic atmosphere, healthy, pretty. i bought it as a gift for my husb. He wanted it for so long,now he got it and he is happy.
The quality is good. I mean - what would you expect from a piece of natural salt? It's a little bit chalky on the surface, but as soon as the outer layer comes to its shape and small crumbs are removed, it does not crumble.
the wooden coaster is fair. You hardly can spot it - perfect fit to the shape of the salt block.
The product is pretty much as described.
the only thing is that the bulb is so tiny little... it does not create any significant light, but gives nice and soft radiance. We leave it on all night and it does not disturb our sleep.
The color of the lamp is exactly as shown on the picture - bright orange to terracotta.

I love Amazon.com simply because I can find everything I need, generally at a discount. A friend of mine got me a salt lamp for Christmas, and explained the properties of the lamp. I plugged it in, and just loved the look of it. The light that it puts out makes it a very inviting and welcoming addition to my house, and anyone who sees it, wants to know where I got it. I loved that Christmas Salt lamp so much, I went to Amazon.com and placed an order for 3 8" lamps from Tiger Drive and could not be happier with them. They came very securely packaged, very professionally, and quick. All items were included, and easy to set up. The price is right, the lamps look great, and I am one happy customer. This is the fourth Himalayan Natural Salt Lamp I Have ordered. All my family wants one. Amazon prices have been the best and shipping is really great. The lamp really works.!!!!

I just received my salt lamp and i am generally pleased. The bulb works but does not fit securely in the the lamp. Judging from the damage to the package I would say this was dropped upside down at some point and there were shards of salt loose in the bag as well as clinging to the base. I also did not receive the size that I ordered and paid for. I ordered a 14-17 pound lamp and received a 7 pound lamp. I have sent an email to the seller and await a response and refund of the difference. Time will tell.

Beautiful 7+ Lbs of salt crystal having a beautiful orange hue, once the lamp is lit the light is enough to reasonabely illuminate a 600 sqft area, its a soft orange light. This is real salt so keep water away. Craftsmanship is excellent and would serve as an excellent gift or personal use item.

I had taken my son to visit his pediatrician and she had one of these salt lamps in every exam room. Prior to this visit, the rooms had a typical doctors office smell-not offensive but they do treat ill children there! At this visit, the exam rooms didn't have the previous odor and it was attributed to the salt lamps. As we have 2 cats and 2 dogs and allergy issues I thought we would try using these lamps at home. Now the house smells fresher and the allergies have subsided! Another plus is that the salt lamps cast a warm glow and we have eliminated using any nightlights. We will be giving these as gifts to our loved ones this year!!

I actually got this as more of a nightlight for my pets than anything else, but I was surprised that it seems to have health benefits as well. I have one cat with asthma who tends to be at his worst during the summer. However, since letting this run in the room where he spends most of his time, he's had no spontaneous attacks at all. I'm shocked. If this had been me I would have attributed it to placebo effect; I'm one for drugs as treatments rather than new age-y stuff. This is supposed to be the worst year in terms of air quality for our area, but it's been his best year. I might order another for the winter when I'm more prone to sinus infections!

I bought two of these. One for my aunt and one for my mom. Both ladies are very difficult to buy for and I usually get the "Oh honey that was nice of you but.." This time they LOVED the lamps! My mom has COPD and said she was breathing easier after the first night! I can't claim any medical miracles but if it makes her feel better I am happy! Because of my mom's condition she can't have any candles around and she misses the warmth the candles give off. She was happy with the way the salt lamps had a "candle like glow" My aunt was equally thrilled with the lamp.
The lamps arrived in perfect condition. They also had a bulb! This is great because its a pain to buy a gift for someone and they cant use it right away.
The only complaint they had was they wished there was a dimmer switch so they could turn them down at night. That was easily solved when a friend installed one.

I also have one and plan on purchasing a few more for my office and for gifts.

I have checked around and this is a GREAT price!

I'm not an allergy sufferer but my wife is so I picked up one of these lamps. At first she laughed at the claims (she's very skeptical) but then later said she thought it was working. Regardless, it's a really nice looking light. Not too bright, and it casts a great fiery glow to the room. I'm actually about to order a second one because my parents really liked it when they saw it so I told them to expect one for Christmas.

Honestly, I really like this lamp. It's got a dimmer built-in which makes it a great mood light with it's pink and orange hue. Not girly, more like a light fiery color. If you're looking for a low-wattage lamp for an end table, this is it. If you're looking to use a lamp to defeat smoke, litter-boxes or garbage, fuggitaboutit. Do yourself a favor and change the litterbox, smoke outside (or quit) and clean your house. Don't expect a lamp to do housekeeping for you, it's just a lamp and it MIGHT ionize the air a bit, but the surface of the lamp is barely warm, probably not even skin temp.
