The item I received was made by WBM International. About the size of a grapefruit, it arrived in a nice box, and it was packed well to protect the product. Included in the box were the following: a tiny user manual and a product information pamphlet. The candle holder did NOT come with a candle. That's a separate purchase. Because this is a natural product, no two will be exactly alike, and they most like will NOT all be evenly round or roundish. Expect some irregular lines, shapes, and proportions. Expect that each candle holder will have its own peculiar look and personality. Thus, if you plan to set a table using two or more of these candle holders, be prepared that you will most likely NOT have perfectly matching products / pairs. Just like people, each salt candle holder will have its own appearance. To me, that is part of their charm and beauty. You can see my candle holder's picture in the picture area of this product page. You'll note that it is not perfectly shaped or round. :) I love it though as there is not another exactly like it in the world! I enjoy the soft peachy-orange glow.

My reason for buying: I enjoyed my Himalayan Salt lamp so much that I decided to try this candle version as a more portable, decorative item. The idea of a tiny, living flame flickering in the natural salt holder appealed to me. From the beginning, I expected the candle holder's light to be different from the steady, evenly distributed glow of the plug-in lamp, and my expectations were spot on! People who wish for a steady, consistence warm--robust--glow from the whole product would most likely enjoy a plug-in lamp more than the candle holder. [These are available on Amazon. Read all reviews carefully though because there are questions of different levels of quality snd safety in the plug-in lamps!]

In my experience, I have found that the salt candle holder takes on the mood of the candle used, and if you have a good, well-made candle, you should have a happy, living little light, which subtly illuminates. It won't have the eye-catching "intensity" or orangeness of the plug-in lamp, but it does have a nice, ethereal quality, quite soothing to simply gaze into while relaxing, perhaps even listening to music. In the presence of gentle breeze / moving air--such as from a ceiling fan, the candle light dances pleasantly in the holder, which seems to produce a curious shimmering effect.

If you have one of those poor quality tea lights (which I tried first), the results can be disappointing and frustrating. You'll even be tempted to blame the holder. After some irritation with poor tea lights and a burned thumb, I found that a small "real" candle actually works better for me, especially since the hole in the salt candle holder is deeply carved--a situation that does make the thing tricky to light as other reviewers have stated. I've found satisfaction with using that small candle. [Be sure to put the salt candle holder on a coaster or placemat to protect the surface of your table.]

This product can be naturally elegant, unusual, spooky, wild, weird, spiritual--depending on the setting its used, depending on the owner's wishes and intent. LOL :) For those who like a candle burning during meditation, this might be an interesting product---where one can contemplate light, earth, air, etc. The candle holder makes a fun, conversation-inspiring holiday table decoration---Halloween, Christmas, Valentines.

As with any lamp or candle product, care and common sense should be exercised at all times.

I ordered the 3 tea light version. My holder was more rectangular than the one Amazon has pictured. I wasn't expecting to get the same exact one as pictured since the description states that each holder is individually hand crafted - therefore no two will be alike. This holder looks amazing once lit. I have noticed that some tealights I used extinguished before the wax was completely melted. This probably has something to do with the quality of the tealight. I recommend using matches or one of those elongated lighters to light the tealights inside the holder. Lighting them and then dropping them into the holes usually extinguishes the flame. The 3 tealight version was one of the cheapest out of the bunch when I bought it.

I bought several of these as gifts for Christmas. A friend insists that she sleeps ever so much better now that she lights her salt crystal candle for few hours before she goes to bed (doesn't leave it lit, of course).
we love the cozy light it gives out, I bought the 5 tealights and use it as a centerpiece on the dining table.

Even if the health claims are all in my head, at least consider buying one of these as a decorative item. The stone is gorgeous, and the tealight pocket is so deep that you really don't have to worry about setting things on fire, say if you light it for a party. It's bigger than it looks on screen. So far, I've had it by my computer while I work (burning pure beeswax candles, which also reputedly de-ionize), and then I move it to my bedroom at night and set it on top of a cheap coffee-warming gadget to keep it warm through the night without the light and the candle issues. I've felt more relaxed and seem to have slept deeper. It's a little early to tell whether that's a long-term effect, but this is still a beautiful object at an excellent price, especially if you have Prime to keep the shipping down.

This thing is about the size of a softball. But it does give off a pleasant light and an almost-there almost-not essence. It was a nice unusual gift, and we got one for ourselves as well.

I love this I will be buying one for everyone I know. It really does clean the air, makes it smell good and makes me very happy!

This candle holder is very rustic, it does not look like the picture. The only redeeming thing is that it looks pretty when lit, otherwise not so great.

I did not expect this candle holder to be exactly as pictured, but it wasn't even close. Two sides were completely flat and the other sides were barely textured. It was a big disappointment. It wasn't worth the trouble/expense to return it so I am disposing of it and have gone to our local health food store and found one for the same price that was more like what was pictured. Save yourself the expense and disappointment and don't buy this online.

I've read the reviews on the healing qualities of Himalayan Natural Crystal Salt, and with the photo's above I thought two of these would be a good decorative candle holder for a low light shrine in the living room.

When I opened the box I was a little disappointed with the coloration of the candle holders but as with everything in nature, nothing is exactly alike, but once I lit the candles color really popped out so lighting them improved the coloration about a 100%.

So if your candle holders aren't the color of those in the photo's shown, light one up and see if it doesn't improve yourself.

As far as the health benefits that are claimed, I'm not sure about them all, but I am a believer in their value in reducing stress and helping with sleeplessness.

I've never been one to believe in most of the natural remedies people have tried to sell me on in the past, but for those issues mentioned above, I swear to their effectiveness, and plan to keep them around at least for the foreseeable future.

The price is great, I love the natural look, and the color they produce when lit is honestly very warm and helps me relax. In my opinion the ambient light makes them well worth the purchase for that reason alone, and if by chance the other health benefits have any merit they're a still at this price.

This sexy candle holder just makes so much difference! It looks awesome, very intimate, it's a great looking item, and will make an amazing gift!
