5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Event, April 20, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: WCW Beach Blast [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Beach Blast 92 only featured 5 matches, but they where all above average to say the least. The opener say "Fly'in" Brian Pillman v. Johnny Flamingo (aka Raven). This was a very good match which featured some very sound back and forth mat wrestling. The next match was a falls count anywhere match between Cactus Jack and Sting. Sting and Cactus blow the roof off the place in this 5 star affair. One of the best brawls I have ever scene. Next Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat took on "Ravishing" Rick Rude in a 30 minute Iron Man Match. Just a wonderful encounter all the way. In my opinion this is the best Iron Man Match ever. It beats Bret v. Shawn at Wrestlemania 12 because it's more fun to watch. I would also put it over The Rock v. HHH at Judgement Day 2000 becuase this one just told a better story. I loved the way this match unfolded. Ricky getting in some good offense for the first 7 min or so then Rude getting some quick pins. I won't spoil the ending but I assure you it's a great piece of business. The next match up saw "The Natural" Dustin Rhoads, Nikoli Volkoff & Barry Windham v. Dangerous Alliance ("Stunning" Steve Austin, Arn Anderson) This match was great, but for some reason WCW cut it and there is only about 5 minutes of action. I don't know why WCW did this but what is on the tape is gold. The Main event saw The Steiners (Scott & Rick) v. "Doctor Death" Steve Williams & Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy. This was another wonderful match up but also has about 3 minutes cut from it. Anyway besides the cuts this is one of the best cards in the history of professional wrestling. I put this card right up there with Wrestlemania 10 and WWF In Your House Canadain Stampede. A MUST HAVE FOR ANY SERIOUS WRESTLING FAN.

Just the match between "Ravishing" Rick Rude vs Rick "The Dragon" Steamboat is worth purchasing this video.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Classic!!, March 24, 1999

This one was during the Bill Watts era of WCW. While the "top rope DQ rule" sucked, the matches themselves were excellent!! It is a classic and is worth the money.
