5.0 out of 5 stars Five star dated WCW game, but fun and challenging
THQ's second American release is a huge leap in graphics from the original "World Tour" Dozens of wrestlers from the NW0, WCW, Raven's Flock, cruiserweights, heavyweights and some of which are made up for the game. The great thing about this game is it was back in WCW's hay-day when it had talented wrestlers, like Jericho, Benoit, Malenko and Raven, more talent means more...

THQ's second American release is a huge leap in graphics from the original "World Tour" Dozens of wrestlers from the NW0, WCW, Raven's Flock, cruiserweights, heavyweights and some of which are made up for the game. The great thing about this game is it was back in WCW's hay-day when it had talented wrestlers, like Jericho, Benoit, Malenko and Raven, more talent means more moves, more moves means more fun. The only real modes other than battle royals, and handicapped matches are a series of championship tournaments to go through in a specific weight / talent class. There are incredible looking arenas even with an isle to brawl in and weapons that you can pull from the crowd and bring into the ring. The unfortunate part about this game is that it is dated, and it moves very slowly compared to Wrestlemania2000 and No Mercy.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good game but way too easy, December 20, 1999

The title says it all. The gameplay is great and quite addicting, but it is way too easy to play. Now I only play Battle Royal mode to see if I can knock out all 39 opponents, which I have done on several occasions. Even the world title is a cinch to win. Otherwise, it's real fun, and has great graphics, my only gripe being bleedover when the wrestlers are close together. If you don't have this, I would suggest getting Wrestlemania 2000 instead. Same game, but much more challenging, great entrances/special moves, cage matches, and everything else Revenge does not have! Plus, Revenge is a little dated now. Get Wrestlemania 2K, its as up to date as you can get (although a few wrestlers changed from good to bad recently, and one or two are in WCW now).

4.0 out of 5 stars Possibly the greatest wrestling game of all time, November 20, 1999

For an older title, this game is very good. The ring enterances are improved, the play control is very easy to master but still has a lot of surprises, there's a very cool Quest For the Best and Royal Rumble mode, a Spirit meter instead of a life meter, and tons of awesome wrestlers. The costume change mode is more in-depth than World Tour's, too.

There are a few flaws, however. The graphics, although improved over World Tour, are still a bit blocky. The animation's kinda cheesy (although WAY better than the hyperfast or super slow Acclaim WWF games.) And if could have used more game options (all it has is Singles, Tag Team, Handicap, and Royal Rumble.)

Overall, it's a good buy, especially if you have friends playing with you (as a multiplayer it eats Goldeneye's gun tag for lunch.) So far, it's my fave wrestling game, it's definately better than Warzone, Attitude, Nitro, and Mayhem. I'm hoping WWF2000 will top this one, though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great For its Time!, October 11, 2005
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: WCW/NWO Revenge (Game Cartridge)
The N64 series of games Like No mercy, WCW Revenge and WM XX, were the best wrestling games around AT THE TIME. They were all carbon copies of each other as far as the engine goes, which isn't really a bad thing. This game really has the Golden Years of WCW down as far as Roster goes and they also added Misc. Fake wrestlers such as AKI man. Something that does get on my nerves about the people who review games is when people speak in "ebonics" speak such as the reviewer a few reviews ago. I thought a pre-schooler wrote it, da this and da that, its called Phonics! Hooked on Phonics Might work for you!

4.0 out of 5 stars The best WCW game..... tho not WWF, March 19, 2005

I always hated the WCW. I was playing Warzone, Attitude and WWF titles for a long time. Then I somehow ended up owning this game and I inteneded to dissmiss it, but I found myself playing it more and more every day and eventualy loved it. I was happy to hear THQ got the rights to WWF and went from this to Wrestlmania and then the best game on the 64 NO MERCY. However, this is the foundation of where it started and I respect it for that. It brought a lot of awsome memorys and entertainment on hot summer nights. I recomend No Mercy over this, but this original version deserves your respect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Revenge is an awesome game, but could use some help., April 18, 1999

The first two games I bought for my N64 were Revenege and Warzone. My reasoning for buying Warzone was because my friends said it was absoulutely amazing. My reasoning for Revenge was because I really enjoyed World Tour, and figures they would be along the same lines, so I bought both.

Both games are great, but, they both have definate advantages and disadvantages. First of, the Create-a-Player mode in Warzone is absolutely amazing. No, revenge doesnt have this, but you can fool around with the wrestlers names, and costumes to make them look like other wrestlers. I have dones this, and I'm actaully very suprised with my "creations". The costume change isn't as good as Create-a-Player, but its good enough.

Now, the game modes. Warzone does have better features, such as the challenge, cage, tornado, war, etc...but Revenge has an amazing Battle Royal. You can have up to 40 wrestlers (only 4 in the ring) in the battle. It can keep youi occupied for hours. If you have the time, it is well worth it.

Another issue between the games is graphics. Now, there is absolutely no way to compare the two types of graphics. People continue to bash the garphics of both games. Its just improper because the two "styles" of graphics are completely different. They are both good graphics. Yes, Revenge could have better faces, but then again Warzone doesn't have great faces either.

Now, another big issue is sound. REVENGE"S SOUND SUCKED!!!!!! No entrance themes or commentary!!! What the hell is that?? Warzone has entrance and commentary. I'm not saying that it's excellent, but it'd better than nothing.

Another thing to compare are the entrances. Warzone's entarnces take about 5 seconds, it's horrible. Revenge's entrances are very good. From Goldeberg's pyrotechnics, to Sting's entarnce from the rafters. They're great.

One last thing to compare is the game play. Revenge is extremly easy to play, you're onyl a few flick of a joystick away from a Jacknife Powerbomb. Yes, I'd like Revenge's game play to be more challenging, like Warzone, but it's a great game for small kids. Like I said, I like Warzone's gameplay very much. You have to put some skill into doing a Stunner, or Superkick, or a Tombstone Pildriver.

Well, that's all, go ahead and yell at me, scream at me for my opinions. But keep in my these are only OPINIONS.

What a game! This game takes the action packed World Championship Wrestling programs to your Nintendo 64! The game features TV, US, Tag, and World Title Tournaments and INCREDIBLE control! Unlike WWF Warzone, There are no codes to memorize to do a finisher, It's real easy! And the character likenesses are incredible! Some of the characters are Hollywood Hogan Giant Brian Adams w/ Vincent Scott Hall w/ Dusty Rhodes Scott "Flash" Norton Eric Bischoff w/ Miss Elizabeth Big Poppa Pump, Scott Steiner Curt Hennig w/ Rick Rude Kevin Nash Sting Lex Luger Macho Man Randy Savage w/ Miss ELizabeth Konan Raven Lodi Sick Boy Riggs Reese Kidman Roddy Piper Diamond Dallas Page w/ Kimberly Goldberg Bret "Hitman" Hart Chris Benoit Rick Steiner Fit Finley Booker T Saturn Disco Inferno Jim Neidhart British Bulldog Glacier Meng w Jimmy Hart Van Hammer Kanyon/Mortis Yugi Nagata w/ Sonny Ohno Larry Zbysko Barberian La Parka Stevie Ray Chris Jericho Eddy Guerrero Psychosis Rey Mysterio Jr Dean Malenko Juvintud Guerrera Chavo Guerrero Jr Ultimo Dragon Alex Wright

As wella s several "fake" wrestlers that have similar moves to Ric Flair, The Rock, Taz, and more.

Greatest wrestling game I've ever played. A combination of good graphics and GREAT gameplay make it that. until WCW/nWo Mania comes out, which will feature alot of this as well as a Cage match and create your own, and the abillity to fight in the parking lots!, This will be the best game. Attitude can't hold a candle!

Enjoy it! And like Hollywood Hogan said "Revenge is ust too sweeet!"
