4.0 out of 5 stars GOOD OVER ALL GAME!
This game has flaw's, the game play on it ain't all that, but it's easier, and better game play, than Attitude, and War Zone! The character's are realistic looking, and there are some cool finishing moves on this game, but the hidden character's are hard enough to get. I suggest, getting the code, or the player's guide, so you can actually do there moves as well...

1.0 out of 5 stars Nitro is a waste of cash.
First of I must say that I really feel like I threw my hard earned cash away when I purchased Nitro. For one thing the playibility is horrible and performing a single regular move like a suplex is immpossible. Hell every move is immpossible because if you are facing the computer, the other charcter will constantly grab you while you are trying to perform your moves...

For one thing the playibility is horrible and performing a single regular move like a suplex is immpossible. Hell every move is immpossible because if you are facing the computer, the other charcter will constantly grab you while you are trying to perform your moves. Also what really sucks, is the hidden wrestlers. I like the roster but the wrestlers dont sport their own signature moves just someone elses. For example Roddy Piper is a hidden character and his finisher is called "the Piper Clutch." What this moves is what I remember is Chris Benoit's Crippler Crossface. To put in hardcore terms DONT EVEN RENT THIS GAME. If you must then I say let the buyer and the renter BEWARE.

The play control needs work, but the graphics are surprisingly good. It reminded me of a Genisis wrestling game from awhile ago. If you're not a hardcore wrestling fan, you probably won't think much of it. I thought it was okay.

There are many better wrestling games than Nitro. The control is flat out poor. I like to find strong points in any game, but THQ and the programmers were not thinking of the gamer when they wrote this one. Sorry guys, but this game stinks.

Not a good comparasin.

1.0 out of 5 stars The Worst Wrestling Game EVER!, September 4, 2006

= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: WCW Nitro (Game Cartridge)
I was a huge fan of Acclaims first two wrestling released (Warzone & Attitude) but when I played THQ's WCW/NWO REVENGE the first time, I found it to be more enjoyable then the Acclaim games. Even tho I wasnt a fan of the WCW after a while that game became extremly addicting. And I was thrilled when I heard THQ obtained the rights to WWF and released Wrestlemania and No Mercy.

I was shocked to find that THQ made Nitro AFTER Revenge.

Luckily i've only been playing it as a rom. But this game seriosly sucks. It doesnt have the same controls as the other THQ titles. This one runs too fast and is more like an arcade fighter then anything. It doesnt have a wrestling feel to it, it's too hard to control and I found myself just mashing buttons trying to figure out what the hell was going on.

The graphics arnt that bad, but if it only played more like the other titles it mightve been ok. But this game has you repeating the same thing over and over again.

The controls I give 0 stars to. There might be a way to master them, i dont know, and i dont care.

The sound is annoying, the commentary is too repedative, the hidden wrestlers and rings dont make an improvment.

I think THQ mustve released this on april first or something. It's a serios downfall compared to the other titles. Even WCW Mayhem was better then this POS.

For your best wrestling games on the 64, heres my recomendations.

#1 - No Mercy (THQ)
#2 - WCW/NWO Revenge (THQ)
#3 - WWF Wrestlemania (THQ)
#4 - ECW Hardcore Revolution (Acclaim)
#5 - WWF Warzone (acclaim)
#6 - WWF Attitude (Acclaim)
#7 - WCW Mayhem (EA Sports)
#8 - WCW World Tour (THQ)
#9 - WCW Nitro (THQ)

Never played Backstage Assault or the Japense wrestling games. I recomend No Mercy over any 64 wrestling game. Avoid NITRO by all counts.

1.0 out of 5 stars This game was the reason I stopped watching WCW, November 12, 2002
This review is from: WCW Nitro (Game Cartridge)
Seriously, grab your shovels and let's bury this one because it totally bites! WCW/NWO Nitro is easily the worst game ever and I'm seriously talking about EVER!! No other game that I've ever played was this bad!

Graphics = poor, sloppy, ugly and generally funny looking. Gameplay = a big fat 0 because the game is not fun. All you can really do (unless you're God) is kick, punch and taunt because the computer pulls off any moves with ease while you are stuck struggling trying to figure out this game's terrible move configuration. Replay = another big fat 0. Nothing great here at all because of it's complicated and frustrating gameplay.

If you want any of the WCW games, I would suggest WCW/NWO or WCW/NWO REVENGE because those are just better games, easier to play and they look a lot better. Don't waste your time and don't be fooled by the name. Just because this is a WCW game, doesn't mean you get the same WCW quality.
