5.0 out of 5 stars Best Slamboree ever
I Just wanna say that this Slamboree was excellent. Matches were awesome especially Nash vs. Page for the WCW world Title. I also recommend Slamboree 96.

3.0 out of 5 stars Slamboree 99
Raven & Saturn VS Ray Mysterio Jr. & Billy Kidman VS Dean Malenko & Chris Benoit: Best match of the card. Funny how WCW always put there best match of the card on first.

Konnan VS Stevie Ray: Fast foward.

Bam Bam Bigelow VS Brian Knobbs: A typical hardcore match with nothing really going on out of the ordinary.

4.0 out of 5 stars a Fair WCW PPV, April 27, 2003
By
This review is from: WCW Slamboree 1999 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Slamboree 1999 was a average PPV for WCW. The card was not bad but it was not as good as it could have been. Here are the matches:

Raven & Saturn vs. Ray Mysterio Jr. & Billy Kidman vs. Dean Malenko & Chris Benoit-A great opening bout, I was suprised who won but a good start

Konnan vs. Stevie Ray-An OK match between 2 fair performers, could have been better

Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Brian Knobbs-A great WCW hardcore match between these two, I think Bam Bam is such a good wrestler

Rick Steiner vs. Booker T-Great match, Booker T is such a great performer, this is a good match and the Steiners reunite

Georgeous George vs. Charles Robinson-boring to watch, but damn GG is fine

Scott Steiner vs. Buff Bagwell-a pretty good match between two old friends, its ok and Rick helps Scott

Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. Ric Flair-not great but the two men are legends, more of a brawl than a match, the fans actually cheer for Bischoff here

Bill Goldberg vs. Sting-as always a Goldberg match is great and Sting is a good performer as well, the return of the Hitman

Kevin Nash vs. DDP-A great match between these two, Nash is a little slower now that hes older but he can still put on a good show, great match and theres a new champ in WCW

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best WCW Pay-Per-View of 99', September 14, 2002
By
This review is from: WCW Slamboree 1999 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This had to be one of the best pay-per-views of 1999 because of the fact of one of the biggest matches being Sting against Goldberg even though ended in a DQ due to a highly unpredictable retired bret hart, still showed two of the biggest stars in WCW going head to head. After that match happened Goldberg was injured in a botched chair shot from bret hart, and bret hart himself was off tv because of his brothers death soon after the event took place. I was there at Slamboree which was live from St. Louis and in the 7th row, and to me this was one hell of a solid card, but tooo many interfearances.

DDP vs. Nash [WCW Title] - 5/5 (BOTH MEN NOW IN WWE)
Sting vs. Goldberg - 4/5 (couldve ended cleanly)
Piper vs. Flair - 4/5 (true classic, ended dumb)
Scott Steiner vs. Buff Bagwell [US TITLE] 4/5 (Dream Match)
Georgeous George vs. Charles Robinson 2/5 (Georgeous George is HOT! Surprisingly Entertaining)
Rick Steiner vs. Booker T [TV TITLE] 3/5 (Interfearance)
Brian Knobbs vs. Bam Bam Bigelow 1/5 (Pointless)
Konnan vs. Stevie Ray 1/5 (Pointless)
Kidman & Rey vs. Saturn & Raven vs. Benoit & Malenko [TAG TITLES] 5/5 (Show Stealer, ALL THESE MEN NOW IN WWE)

If i missed a match my appologies, but in all it was a perfect PPV and a must have for your WCW VHS Collection.

Rick Steiner VS Booker T: Despite Scott coming out, the match still went back and fourth for a few minutes. The ending was weak.

Georgeous George VS Charles Robinson: Couldnt they have put a Flair-Savage match instead? A waste of time and money. Then again, the WCW superstars were probably wiping there butts with hundred dollar bills at the time.

Scott Steiner VS Buff Bagwell: I cant belive I bought this PPV.

Rowdy Roddy Piper VS Ric Flair: Oh thats why Flair didnt wrestle Savage earlier. A typical president vs president match that WCW did alot of.

Sting VS Goldberg: This match was going so well. Then Hart interferes and its ruled a no contest. No wonder why fans left WCW in droves.

Kevin Nash VS DDP: I actully enjoyed this match. I liked how Bischoff came down and said there must be a winner. Of course, Nash wins the belt.

Overall, a pretty bad card with the first and last match being the only good matches of the night.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great WCW PPV, April 21, 2007
This review is from: WCW Slamboree 1999 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This PPV was great. It had one of the most solid cards WCW ever put out, here is the card:

Raven/Saturn vs Benoit/Malenko vs Kidman/Rey- now this was one of the best damn matches I have ever seen period. You have some of the best Brawlers,High Flyers, and Technical wrestlers putting on one hell of a show. Raven and Saturn win. 10/10

Stevie Ray vs. Konnan-this was a great match to fill up the time on the PPV. The NWO and Rey Jr. interfere. Konnan wins. 6.5/10

Bam Bam vs. Brian Knobbs- another great WCW hardcore match. Hard hitting even goes outside of the arena. Bam Bam wins. 6.5/10

Rick Steiner vs. Booker T- both men were in their prime during this time and Booker was T.V champ. this was a very strange combination of styles but they were able to put on a great wrestling match. Scotty interferes and became part 1 of the Steiner reunion. new TV champ Rick Steiner. 8/10

Gorgeus George vs. Charles Robinson- it was a DUD but was hilarious seeing a woman vursus a referee. The match was quite long too. George wins 4.5/10

Buff Bagwell vs. Scott Steiner-Dream match, part 2 of Steiner reunion. Scott wins. 8.5/10

Roddy Piper vs. Ric Flair- both men are getting old and are getting ready to retire in the next few years. But hey its WCW lol. Piper wins by Bischoff. 7/10

Sting vs. Goldberg- these 2 were the premiere wrestlers of the 90s and went nonstop for about 10 minutes. But who was the FRANCHISE, we'll never know because of Bret Hart and The Steiners interfering. 9/10

DDP vs. Nash- you have Nash who was getting old, and you have DDP who was still a relative newcomer to the World title ranks. Anyways they showed they could still go. Macho Man interferes and becomes No DQ in the middle of the match. Nash wins for his 2nd WCW title. 9.5/10(could've been 10/10)

Raven & Saturn vs. Ray Mysterio Jr. & Billy Kidman vs. Dean Malenko & Chris Benoit - Solid opening match, when you have guys that are good workers and actually know how to wrestle it makes out for a good match. 7/10
Konnan vs. Stevie Ray - ummmmmmm I really didnt like this match..maybe because neither of these guys I have ever found that exciting so.....I would fast forward through this match.2/10
Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Brian Knobbs - I didn't really expect much from this match but it was solid.....some cool and hardcore things happend. 6/10
Rick Steiner vs. Booker T - Pretty good match. Booker should have won......wcw really liked having old champions I mean rick stiener has been wrestling since the 80's but a new Tv Champ.6/10
Georgeous George vs. Charles Robinson -Very entertaining to me. CHarles robinson does an awsome ric flair impression. A funny match. 7/10
Scott Steiner vs. Buff Bagwell - I didnt really care for this match. Boring. 3/10
Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. Ric Flair - In their prime this would have made for a great match and it wasnt bad now but a little slower and a little more boring. 6/10
Bill Goldberg vs. Sting -Pretty good match. Solid action through the whole fight but it would have been nice to have a real winner. 7/10
Kevin Nash vs. DDP - Best match of the night with out a doubt. Both men were on top of their game and it wasn't boring and it wasnt slow a lot of near pinfalls and thank you eric bischoff for making th ematch go longer.9/10

All the Undercard matches were good but the main event more than lived up to the hype.I was glad to see it continue despite Savage trying to cause a Disqualification.

This review is from: WCW Slamboree 1999 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
What a PPV event. Georgeous George vs. "Little Natch" Charles Robinson was the most entertaining match of the night. I was kind disappointed when Kidman, Misterio, and Booker T lost their titles, and Buff Bagwell losing in his U.S. Title shot. When's the last time somebody won a championship on their own?
