1.0 out of 5 stars A poor excuse for a Superbrawl
I have seen every Superbrawl and this is by far the worst. The Texas Death match between Funk and Flair is a good one, but even they could not save us from the horrible five minute main event, and the lousy tag team strecher match, as well as the sad attempt at cashing in on nostalgia, with the return of Hulk Hogan in the red and yellow.

3.0 out of 5 stars SCOTT HALL'S LAST WCW APPEARANCE., July 7, 2006

I RECENTLY PUCHASED THIS TAPE ON EBAY FOR A CHEAP PRICE AND RECALLED EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED ON FEBRUARY 2000 AT WCW'S SUPERBRAWL 2000.I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THIS EVENT FIVE STARS IF WCW WOULD HAVE PUT THE GOLD ON SCOTT HALL.YOU COULD ALMOST FEEL THE VIBES LIKE HE WAS GOING TO FINALLY WIN THE TITLE.FANS HAD THERE SIGNS OF SCOTT HALL=WCW CHAMP,HALL HAD GOTTEN OVER HIS PROBLEMS FOR A WHILE AND CAME BACK ON WCW TELEVISION.HE HAD NEVER WON A WORLD TITLE.ALL THE CUES WERE THERE,BUT NO FOR SOME REASON THE COMPANY DIDN'T GIVE HIM THE TITLE.HEY,SCOTT HALL WILL BE FOREVER KNOWN AS THE INSTIGATOR BEHIND THE MONDAY NIGHT WARS BETWEEN WCW AND THE WWF AND THE FOUNDING FATHER OF THE BIGGEST MONEYMAKER IN WRESTLING HISTORY:THE N.W.O;THAT RIGHT THERE IS WORTH MORE THAN ANY TITLE.VINCE RUSSO HAD LEFT THE COMPANY FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND KEVIN SULLIVAN TOOK OVER IN BOOKING.MAYBE THIS WAS THE REASON WHY HALL DIDN'T RECIEVE THE GOLD.OTHER THAN THAT RIC FLAIR HAD A GOOD OL'FOAGIE MATCH WITH TERRY FUNK AND JAMES BROWN MADE A SPECIAL APPEARANCE AND DANCED WITH THE CAT ERNEST MILLER.I BELIEVE THAT RIGHT THERE WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF SUPERBRAWL.HULK HOGAN HAD A CLASSIC GOOD GUY VERSUS BADGUY MATCH WITH LEX LUGER.THIS PAY-PER-VEIW WAS O.K BUT NOT AS GOOD AS THE PREVIOUS ONE I DID A REVIEW ON.

4.0 out of 5 stars WCW SuperBrawl 2000 review, July 5, 2010
This review is from: WCW Superbrawl 2000 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The Cruiserweight title match between TAFKAPI & Lash LaRoux was a good solid match for a cruiserweight bout. The Hardcore championship match between Bam Bam Bigelow & Brain Knobbs was a good reminder of a NWA brawl and the same goes for the KISS Demon-The Wall match. The 3-on-1 handicap match between Norman Smiley against 3 Count(Evan Karagias,Shannon Moore & Shane Helms) was a joke and the same goes for the Ernest Miller-James Brown dance-off. The Tank Abbott-Big Al Leather Jacket on a Pole match was slow & sloppy. The Big T-Booker match was short but sweet even with the cruddy ending and don't get me started on Booker's 1-time used entrance theme music. The Billy Kidman-Vampiro match was a good solid back-and-forth match. The Sicilian Stretcher match for the world tag team titles between The Mamalukes(Big Vito & Johnny The Bull) against the team of David Flair & Crowbar was a good reminder of ECW in the mid-90's. The Texas Death Match between Ric Flair & Terry Funk was slow-paced but still a good reminder of their "I Quit" match back in 1989. The Hulk Hogan-Lex Luger match was a old-school back-and-forth brawl. The Sid Vicious-Scott Hall-Jeff Jarrett 3-way bout for the World heavyweight championship was short but still a good solid match for a 3-way. I give this event a lucky 7 out of 10.

3.0 out of 5 stars Superbrawl- A PPV that was all mixed up!, September 21, 2000

I was at superbrawl this year and found it to just be a average PPV. Flair vs. Funk in a death match was the highlight of the night. Matches like Demon vs. Wall , 3 count vs. Smiley were filler and little else. THe order of matches was weird with the Sid vs jarrett vs Hall not having that main event feel. If you are a flair or funk fan then I say get it, they make you feel like your watching there feud from 89 all over again. If not take a chance on it you might be suprised.

Superbrawl 2000 wasn't so great. The Sid vs. JJ was boring and predictable. The leather strap match was exciting and very bloody. Everyother match was okay, but wasn't as good as Soldout 2000. So buy Soldout or wait to buy Slamboree and the triple cage.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: WCW Superbrawl 2000 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Btw, Im 15...

I read a lot of reviews for this saying "worst ppv ever" and "pure vomit". People said it had no good matches whatsoever. Then I see these guys reviewing a ppv like Vengeance 2004 and calling a solid event. So I found it for$6 and decided to get it for myself.

The event opens up with more talking then usual and a rundown of the card. Im fine with that.

Match one is for the cw title as Lash Leroux would face The Artist. This was the finals of the CW title tourniment. At this time, alot of wcw's finest cruiserweights were on the shelf. Rey,Juvy,Psicosis(though he was working thoough injury), la parka and Disco was a manager. So wcw tried to make new stars for the division and thats how Arist and Lash got in this one. Some good spots but Prince is rather sloppy so this match will get a 4/10.

The hardcore title is upnext between Brian Knobbs and Bam Bam Bigelow. Triple B is a hardcore legend while Knobbs was in the famous tag team the Nasty Boys. Knobbs had done ok in the year 1999 on his own but Fit Finlay took him under his wing around this time. Knobbs and BBB had a hardcore match back at Slamboree 1999 that blows this match out of the water. Then again, that match had more time then this one. This match went through the crowd and had some typical wcw hardcore stuff(trash cans, tin sheets). It was still pretty entertaining though 5/10.

Up next was an amusing 3 on one handicap match that pitted 3 count ( Shane "the hurricane" helms, Shannon Moore and Evan Karagious) against "Screamin" Norman Smiley another one of my all time favorites. It was a fun short match that got 3 count over more as heels but still made Norman look good. 7/10 for me.

After a step up on the card, we go back down a little as The Wall would take on The Demon(Now white sox trainer Dale Torborg). The Wall had been on a vicious streak and I guess wcw thought The Demon could stop him. I think this was one of The Demons first matches. The funny thing about this match was it was billed as a "special main event" match...mustve been in the Kiss demons contract. It was ok for a big man match but I feel the Wall had to carry Demon a little bit since he was shy to the business. 5/10.

Jacket on a pole match...I dont know where to start iwth this. I wasnt against at first but it sooned made me want to fast forward. Oh my bad, I forgot to tell you who is in the match. Its Tank Abbott and his former bodyguard Big Al...how scary. Apparently Al had thought Abott had sold out while Abott thought Al was jealous of him. They decided, hey lets settle it in a jacket on a pole match. Whatever. The match kicks off with Al taking his belt off (my first thought was "save that for the showers guys) and they tied each other up to one another and just hit each other. Match, I mean fight was no longer then 3 minutes and I was going to give it a 2 but afterwards Tank pulls out his knife on Al(yes, im serious). It cracked me up how corny it was so I raed the score to 3.

Then for the rights to Harlem Heat, Booker faced Big T. First off, why was he facing Big T and not Stevie Ray? Wouldnt that make more since? Stevie Ray before the match promisis to bring back someone who used to have bookers back. The announcers were saying it was midnight(girl that was with Booker T in late 1999) and the lights went out and her music played but it ended up being some huge ass dude. He distracted Booker while Big T hit a powerbomb on him for the win. This guy looked familiar and I thought about it and I think he was one of the No Limit Soldiers that appeared in wcw around summer of 1999! Hell I wish booker was around then because I wouldve love to seen Booker with Konnans group against Hennings instead of B.A (brad armstrong, we all know he is a rap loving, ball grabbin gangster). The match actually was pretty good to me and Booker really elevated this show. 6/10

Next up was the rubber match of Kidman and Vampiro. These guys were being billed as the future of wCw. Kidman and Vampiro at the time had a feud based on respect and bad blood at the same time which included a mini feud with the wall. The match was solid and had good pace which can be very vital in a pay per view. Some would call this match of the night but I think the next match gets that offers, still a nice match 7/10.

The match of the night had to be the tag stretcher match. It pitted David Flair and Crowbar against The Mamalukes. THe lukes had Disco in their corner as Flair/Crowbar had Daffeny who I always found kind of cute in a wierd goth tortture me kind of way...nevermind that Im starting to sound like Mark Madden. The match had everything in it to keep the fans in the arena to the fans watching at home interested. Disco got maced by daffeny and kept going over the announcers table and saying stuff and when hed put the headset down the announcers owuld make fun of him, great stuff. The match was really well excuted and the right team went over. Match of the night for sure 9/10.

Then we go into the death match between Flair and Funk. I didnt think Id like this match as Flair is overrated imo and Funk was ok. This match was a real shocker to me and went oldschool. Funk piledrived Flair so many times its scary. Flair does a great job selling and yells the "S" word tons of times. Ending might be debatable but it furthered the Dustin Rhodes turning his back on Funk which would happen later(I htink about a week later) 7/10.

Hulk Hogan makes his return and since he isnt in the main event(when was the last time Hogan was on a show and wasnt in the world title and/or main event match?) so WCW decided to please hogan and call his match with Luger a special main event match and Hogan even got Michal Buffer! Hogan, Im a fan of you but its relaly obvious how much you used the backstage influence. The match was ok and the crowd was really into it and with a good crowd, matches can seem 100x better then they really are which I feel is the case for the match. 6/10

Then its time for the MAIIIINNNNN EVENT! Looking at this, I was excited for it. Sid is a great big man imo , Jarret dispite what the smarks say is a wrestling god(yeah, screw you Mr dull JBL) and Hall could be the man when he wanted to. I read on a site that news archives a few months ago that WCW was thinking of giving Hall the title at this show but apparently the week before wcw was on a over seas trip and he got into it with some of the boys and wcw quickly changed their minds. The was good but way to short. and for that I have to give it a 6/10.

Overall, an ok show. Nothing spectacular(though I think the tag title match was fantastic) and nothing real bad(lets not talk about hte pole match). So the overall score is 6/10. If you can get it for $10 like I did, it is worth a look if your fans of the guys on the card and the wcw style. Thanks for reading.

3.0 out of 5 stars SuperBomb 2000, October 28, 2000
This review is from: WCW Superbrawl 2000 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The main event lasted 9 minutes. Guys like Sid, Hall, and JJ could pull off a better 3-way dance for the coveted gold. How bad is it when you say Hogan's match was better than the main event?! Flair/Funk death match was the best show of the nite. James Brown made an appearance, which was interesting. The card looks promising on paper, but an 11 match card(plus the James Brown stuff) cut matches too short to be defined. Coulda been better.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very good video, June 13, 2000
This review is from: WCW Superbrawl 2000 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The superbrawl 2000 video was very good. Because wcw has great tallent now. The main event between Sid and Jeff Jarrett was great. Because There was a very hot feud between the two wrestlers. The match with Ric Flair was nasty. Because they had a feud that went on for alot of years and Normen Smilly and three count was cool. I thought normen was brave in that match taking on three mem. this is a great video
