A good, fun game that comes close to the main event.,

This review is from: WCW VS. NWO World Tour (Game Cartridge)
Not without it's fun, this good game never gets the main event slot of the showWorld Tour holds the honor of being the first wrestling game on fifth generation game consoles. The title showcased the growing roaster of World Championship Wrestling. Any wrestling game will always have the sport at the core, no matter how many specialty matches exists (e.g. steel cage). Easy to watch and say what could've been, this game had rich multiplayer and pure "core" wrestling experience that stood as the foundation for future games. World Tour brings out the big names, Hogan, Sting, Steiner Bros, they're all here. However that just wasn't enough so two non existence leagues were added to spice things up, each opponent having their own style and gimmick. Only single, tag or handicap matches exist along with battle royal but the beefed up roaster makes hours of game play possible. A tournament mode also waits, after several matches back to back a surprise contender awaits at the end for your unlocking then playable pleasure. Foreign objects can be used outside the ring only and no referee appears for the count. The game runs smoothly and looked lovely for the time. The men resembled the real counterparts with the moves to match. Controls respond fine with some sluggish moments that cause the action to slow down or take a moment to execute fully. Audio only contain grunts and groans plus sound effects that simulate the mat being hit to mediocre response, nothing really sounds as it should. World Tour was a good, not great title for the time. WCW came to life for a whole new audience to enjoy and learn of the sport basics and colorful characters. The basic play here provides plenty of fun with more memories to hold along with three friends. Again, easy to look and see what could be approved, perhaps giving the final product a rushed feel, either way it proved to be a good title to build upon for future wrestling games and that's makes it worth a mention in the history books. Last Words: C+, a good dark match for the fans, nice buildup for the main event to come.

I can remember sitting on the couch with my cousin playing hours of this game. He would be Ninja, and I would be Syxx. For 79 cents it is the bargain of a lifetime!!!!!
