5.0 out of 5 stars Great game!
Even though there are a few updated versions of this game (WCW Revenge and Wrestlemania 2000) I still love this game. This game also features some moves that aren't available in the other two. If you love Revenge or 2000, you'll love this one too!

3.0 out of 5 stars WCW/nWo WORLD TOUR: IT COULD BE BETTER
The first thing that sucks is the beginning video for the game, it's boring and has no piont.Second is the graphics and the fact that there is NO CREATE MODE. The last thing is that there are bunch of wrestlers I've never heard of.It may seem like I don't like the game at all, but IT COULD BE BETTER

5.0 out of 5 stars Gotta say I'm dissapointed I sold this one..., March 24, 2001
This review is from: WCW vs. NWO: WorldTour (Game Cartridge)
I sold it for twenty bucks after I got Revenge. I think I made a mistake. This game has a lot more replay value then the other, with stuff like tournament mode that was left out of Revenge.

There is some stuff that's better on Revenge. Generally the graphics, the entrances, and the ability to bring weapons into the ring are what made it appeal to me more. But this game is still incredibly fun. Just pop it in for kicks once in awhile when your with your buds and have nothing better to do. I say that, because part of what makes it a fun game is the flaws the programmers made. Like when you eliminate one person from a handicap match, they roll outside, and promptly TKO themselves. That is to say, they just completely collapse without even being touched.

Given the choice, I'd take this over WCW/NWO Revenge, but it's no match for Wrestlemania 2000 or the new one WWF No Mercy.

I'm not a wrestling fan, but these games are just so infectiously fun, it's hard not to like them.

4.0 out of 5 stars In the beginning...., June 1, 2000

This game stands up well to the test of time. I've had if for 3 years and still occasionally pop it in. It is credited as being the first game to use the "A button grapple/B button strike" game engine which has won several fighting game awards, although it isn't the first one to use it. The game does have its flaws....still beats Revenge in replay value. Some characters *cough*Bischoff*cough* are weak and worthless while others are........um.....like.......Who the heck is Black Widow? LOL All in all a great game which is the infant form of Wrestlemania 2000 and the soon to be released(hopefully) WWF No Mercy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good old school fun, March 20, 2002
This review is from: WCW vs. NWO: WorldTour (Game Cartridge)
I popped this in a few days ago, being home sick. I'd forgotten how much fun it is. Basically, it's the Great-grand-daddy to WWF: No Mercy. There aren't as many moves as the games that came after it, and the look isn't as crisp. The fun comes in using the wrestlers from the DOA and IU Leagues. Most of these guys are un-named rip-offs of Japanese stars like Hayabusa, the late Gary Albright, and The Great Sasuke.

The biggest gripe I have with this game is the wrestlers chosen for a couple of the "hidden wrestler"/title matches. You have to face Wrath for the DOA Cruiserweight title, and we all know Wrath was no cruiserweight. Same thing with DDP for the WCW cruiserweight belt/trophy. But if you want to trace the evolution of THQ's advancement of Video Game Wrestling, this is the one to start with.

5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER! PERIOD., October 28, 2001

This game is great! It is a true classic and should be in every N64 owner's library. It may not be as good graphic wise as the others in the series, but this one is the best. It's the only game of the bunch (Revenge, Wrestlemania 2000, & No Mercy) to include fantasy wrestlers that are based on real wrestlers. It's got Atsushi Onita, Mike Awesome (The Gladiator), The Great Sasuke, Tarzan Goto, Taka Michinoku, Hayabusa, Jinsei Shinzaki, as well as many others. You can tell who these wrestlers are because the fantasy charecters have the signature moves and gear. Pretty cool! This game also contains Ric Flair, as well as almost all the notable WCW/nWo grapplers of the time. All of the wrestlers have cool moves, something that I thought was lacking in Wrestlemania 2000. This game is a blast, playing it by yourself or with up to 4 friends. It may not contain the better graphics, create wrestler, or quite the number of moves of the later releases: but the fun factor more than makes up for it. ...Once you get the hang of the controls, they are simply astounding. This game has some of the best play control I have EVER experienced. Your charecter will do exactly what you tell them to do. I have never encountered any control hiccups, ever. To top it off, I've easily played this game for over 100 hours. Once you get the basic knowledge of the contols, it's all about timing from there. Once you get the timing down, you'll be unstopable. Unless, of course, you're playing someone like me. The dude also complains about the CPU blocking and dodging too much. The computer does this when you're really wailing on them, or if the difficuly is on hard. Block and dodge are the main counter buttons. Another great aspect of this game, the countering system. All in all this is one the BEST games of all time (in my opinion of course), and a definite MUST BUY!

5.0 out of 5 stars To make a great future have a great foundation, September 19, 2001
This review is from: WCW vs. NWO: WorldTour (Game Cartridge)
This game was the foundation of No Mercy, Wrestlemania 2000 and Revenge. It was the reason why most people bought the N64 because the game was so good and so detailed. Simple controls, easy to use, everyone has two finishing manuvers. Wrestlers from WCW, NwO, FMW, AJPW and all over the world! There are championships for different belts where you compete in several matches to win the belt. Four way matches / battle royals, tournament bracketings and round robin tournaments. It is also the first game in the US for blood. However, this is the first in a series of fantastic games, which are now outdated. The wrestlers and even the graphics are now very outdated as well, if you want something more up to date go for WWF No Mercy.

5.0 out of 5 stars It was Revolutionary for Wrestling Games!, November 30, 1999

Every great series has a beginning. Lets put aside Revenge and WM2K for a minute and talk about World Tour. Without this game there would be no Revenge or WM2K. This game set the standard! It introduced us to what we thought was merely impossable in video game adaptions to wrestling. The play control astonished us at how easy and how fun it made the whole game. Great selection of old time favorites. Great modes...tournament especially! Tons of fun with friends! Most people threw this game out when Revenge and WM2K appeared, but not I. I still hold this game close to my system. This game was truly revolutionary and i will never sell it! This is another game that should be dipped in gold and put up on a plaque, but not before you play the heck outta it!

I like the way they have a lot of wrestlers, and the way you can unlock hidden ones, but the thing that really gets me is the way the computer seems to somtime comeback from nowhere when you seem to have a edge over them it's like really agitating, other than that great game, although if you want the real experience, I would opt going for Revenge.
