Product Description

The WD-40 Trigger Pro non-aerosol multi-use spray contains 20 oz. of lubricant that can be applied to almost any item to reduce friction and protect metal from rust and other corrosion. With over 2,000 documented uses, WD-40 is also commonly used to loosen stuck metal parts, remove grease and grime, silence squeaky components, and displace water to remove moisture from electrical systems. Even after the lubricant has dried, it continues to protect surfaces from corrosion. The lubricant’s petroleum base permits use on most materials, excluding polycarbonate and clear polystyrene. It has a non-aerosol formula that also dissolves adhesives to remove stickers and labels, and allows the bottle to be recycled more easily than aerosol cans. The bottle contains 20 oz. of lubricant for moderate to heavy use and has a pump handle for control over the amount of lubricant dispensed. The nozzle offers both spray and stream options, and can rotate into the off position to prevent accidental release during storage. The nozzle has a child-resistant design that requires the user to push a tab before rotating the spray nozzle, and the closure also has a child-resistant design that cannot be opened, making it unable to be refilled.

Industrial lubricants can be found in most machinery performing one or more functions, including reducing friction and wear, preventing components from adhering to each other, distributing loads more evenly, dispersing heat away from moving parts, and preventing corrosion. Although many materials are used as lubricants, the most common are oil (also called fluid lubricants) and grease because of their versatility. Oil lubricants contain either a petroleum or synthetic base, the properties of which are modified by the addition of various additives. Grease lubricants, a mixture of oil lubricant and a thickening agent, have a thicker consistency than oil, enabling use wherever liquids cannot be retained and requiring less frequent changes.

WD-40 manufactures lubricants, and household and industrial cleaners. The company is headquartered in San Diego, CA.

I would first like to thank the other reviewer (that is mostly likely from WD-40 or getting some kind of reimbursement from them) for their biased and incomplete, five-star review of this product. The product description and the other review didn't feel it was necessary to make one important piece of information very clear... this is a SINGLE USE ONLY can. I would easily pay $14 for a nice spray bottle that I could refill and take advantage of buying WD-40 in bulk, but that's not possible with this can. The screw on lid locks on after the bottle is filled in the factory and CAN'T BE REMOVED when you get it. You would have to destroy it's usability in order to get the top off. $14 for a single use can of WD-40 is a rip-off to me.

Good, even, consistent spray pattern. Seems like a high quality sprayer, in a durable metal can. It surprised me that I needed a hacksaw and needle nosed pliers to open it in order to refill it (There's a lip in the red cap part -- just cut along the lip, toward the bottom of hte can, then use the pliers to break off the security tab. It took me about two or three minutes, not including the time to go get the tools and throw out the debris. Only con (besides having to get two tools to open it) was that it wasn't screwed on tight enough so it leaked a tiny bit when it was new. But I gave it 5 stars because it kept my manual push mower sharp for a year and a half or so (The place I bought it told me to spray it with WD-40 after every use to keep it sharp. It works great.) I hate hate hate mowing my lawn -- anything to make it easier is 5 stars in my book!!

DW-40 is one of those products that really needs no explanation and has been arould a LONG LONG time.
The only reason I purchased this particular spray bottle (IT IS NOT REFILLABLE!), is that I can better detrmine the amount I want to spray on an item.

It takes me 5 seconds to cover an entire boat engine with a fine mist!!

With the areosol cans, I always have a problem of getting a full stream, and then it is sporadic at best!
I gave it 4 stars for cost due to shipping. Can NOT find it locally.
