My 2 1/2 and 5 year old children love the wedgits. I got my daughter the deluxe set for Christmas and they would both fight over who could build things with the pieces so that is why we got my son the larger set for his birthday a month later. They take this toy out almost every day and love to build pyramids, towers and other shapes. The toy is well made and there are lots of creative things the kids can do with it. I would recommend getting a set of cards with examples of how to build the larger designs since the books that the item comes with are mostly basic designs.

We purchased both the Explorer Pak and the Expansion Combo for our 5 grandsons aged 17months to 9years. What a delight to see how much all of them enjoyed this terrific toy! We also bought the Wedgits design cards, but the older boys learned so quickly that they were doing advanced designs within hours. We also bought a large, sturdy plastic crate at the hardware store in which to put ALL of the pieces so none get lost or broken. They totally love this set and our son and daughter-in-law think it may be the best gift the children have ever received.
I purchased all three of the design card sets from Starter to Advanced. Then I punched a hole in the upper left corner, threaded each card on to a keyring wire loop, by difficulty level, then put all of Starter set's 4 level packets on an easy-to-open ring. I repeated this for the main card set and the advanced, then put all of the card sets neatly in a sturdy metal box. The boys can all work at the same time on a different set of cards without squabbling and when finished, the cards go back in the box in the Wedgits chest for another day.
Though the boys can easily make their own creations, the cards are actually very good because it gives them practice in following a visual design/directions after analyzing which pieces are used to exactly duplicate the card picture. I take their picture with their creation sometimes so they can see how happy they were to complete one challenging design before the pieces get taken apart and remade into something else. We'll probably buy them more pieces for future gifts.
We are so tired of children's breaking flimsy toys or getting bored with stupid, non-interesting electronic toys. We're firm believers in letting children think, use their imagination, and create with "old-fashioned" but wonderfully educational toys. Wedgits are not old fashioned, but better than even what was available years ago. Every family should have some. Our grandsons love having their daddy (a lawyer) or grandpa (an engineer) build with them on the floor.
We love Amazon and appreciate the wonderful products they make available for good prices, too!

My son is almost 4 and he loves stacking these geometric shapes and making unusual towers and creations. My husband even invented a game by stacking several of the larger pieces and then doing a race to see how many of the small white pieces can be put in the structure in a minute. This is fun for young and old alike.

Anyone familiar with Wedgits knows how much fun they are. After a few years with a 15 piece starter set, we decided to get more for our 5 year old son. The box in the picture advertises glow in the dark pieces. The box we received has NO glow in the dark pieces and my son was very disappointed. Also, the booklet inside has the same picture advertised here (including glow in the dark pieces). We love Wedgits and are happy with the amount of pieces and things we can build, but that is a HUGE disappointment.

Wedjits are fun for kids and grownups. My 7, 5 and 2 yr olds all play with them, and I enjoy it too. A good purchase.

These things are awesome!! Endless possiblilties. My son who is 10 is VERY good at putting these things together and honestly,it wouldn't hurt to have more.They are extremely durable. They have cards you can purchase seperatly to challenge yourself(.My son finds the expert or advanced cards not difficult BUT he has an extremely STRONG mind with things of this manner. I ,on the other hand, would probably find some a bit challenging and, that does not slow him down, he creates many huge structures that he is quite proud of!!)Because the sizes of the peices are so diverse they are great for all ages(removing smallest parts from toddlers and babies)As great as legos are, these definelty are an easier pick up where they are not so small.Structured together they are durable but still can fall if moved wrong.They are pricey if you buy the big box but if you are an imiginative builder, man... are they worth it!

They were the hit of the birthday party! Bought them for our 2 1/2 yr old grandson, turned out all our grandsons, ages 6, 8, & 8, fell in love. We had a building war going on!! I think its time to purchase more wedgits!!!

My children (5 & 10) absolutely love these sets. We started out with the WEDGiTS To Go set but that limited what they could do. My son has been asking for this eXplorer set for many months but the price tag has held me back.

I have to say that it is well worth it. The addition of this pack has taken their creations to such incredible levels. I am amazed each time my son finishes a new one. He has also done some terrific things with stacking same size pieces and dropping the others inside. It creates a musical sound as the pieces bounce off the insides and drop to the floor.

We also added the eXPANsion set and the STiX set (two of them). I love that fact that there are no batteries required, it can be built, torn down, built again and again. It fits for so many age levels and is sturdy enough for rough use.

I would highly recommend any of the WEDGiTS sets but this one takes it to even better levels.

WEDGITS are a grand idea for any age. I originally bought some for my 3-yr old granddaughter. She loved them, but so did her 1-1/2 yr old sister. Plus, they were both great at building things. Then my 17, 16, and 11 yr old grandchildren came over and everyone was fighting over them. When I asked the 11 yr old what he wanted for his birthday he said WEDGITS. I bought him the 125 piece Explorer set. Him and his 17 yr old brother and 16 year old sister have loved them. They're so easy, yet fun.

My four year old mainly stacked these, while the six year old figured out how to build the explorer featured on the box of this set, then the little one took his pyramid and added it to the explorer as a crown of sorts

these blocks are amazing. they stack, they wedge together to build sculptures. Great fun. Littler kids can do simpler things. bigger kids can get more and more complex. I think these are going to be played with for a long time. This first night they kept the kids entertained for 3 hours.

one thing, the glow in the dark pieces aren't. They are just plain white. It is okay. This is a great toy.
