Important Information

Ingredients
Water, Aloe Vera Gel, Glycerin, Cetyl Alcohol, Rosemary Extract, Wild Cherry Fruit Extract, Chamomile Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Panthenol Pro-Vitamin B5, Trimethylsilylamodimethicone, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Polysorbate 60, Menthol, Essential Oils, PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Citric Acid.

Directions
Rinse hair thoroughly and completely with cool water for at least 1 minute. Cleansing Conditioner should be applied in four sections: the crown of your head, the nape/back of head, ends to the left side of your hair and ends to the right side of your hair. For hair above your shoulders, use a minimum of 24 pumps, (6 pumps per section). For hair down to your shoulders, use a minimum of 32 pumps, (8 pumps per section). For hair past your shoulders use a minimum of 40 pumps, (10 per section). For hair to your mid-back use a minimum of 48 pumps, (12 per section). Add a splash of water to help evenly distribute through the ends and massage vigorously into scalp for 2-3 minutes. Comb through with a wide-tooth comb and clip hair up for the remainder of the shower. Leave on for at least 3-5 minutes. The longer you leave it on the better for maximum results. Rinse with cool water thoroughly for 1-2 minutes by massaging your scalp and running your fingers through to the ends. While hair is soaking wet, apply 1-3 pumps of the Cleansing Conditioner as a leave-in conditioner starting from the back of the head through to the ends. For thicker/coarser hair increase amount of pumps in order to thoroughly hydrate and cleanse the scalp and ends. If you choose to rinse and repeat, use half the amount of suggested pumps for each cleansing.

5.0 out of 5 stars The healthiest my hair has ever been, November 1, 2005

I have tried all three "flavors" of Wen, and while the Fig Cleansing Conditioner is my favorite scent, this particular Tea Tree Cleansing conditioner is the best for my hair and scalp type. I have an oily scalp and coarse hair that is oily at the roots and dry at the ends. I used heavy duty clarifying shampoo everyday with the hopes of obliterating the oil problem. BIG MISTAKE! This made my scalp itchy and hair dry from root to end, and at the end of the day my scalp felt covered in nasty greasiness. Now I use Wen Tea Tree everyday and my scalp feels healthy and comfortable, not dry and irritated as when I used the harsh shampoo everyday. I didn't think this was possible, but my hair seems more balanced and perfectly moisturized both at the roots and ends and my scalp does not feel greasy at the end of the day. An added bonus is that my hair looks and feels healthier and than it has ever been. I even convinced my "product-phobic" fiance to use it just once and he continues to use it without further persuasion. I will tell you now that the product smells like tea tree oil, having a "medicinal" smell. At first I didn't like the smell of tea tree but now I find it relaxing. The weird thing, however, is that once my hair is dry, there is no lingering medicinal odor. I even smelled my fiance's hair, and at the very most his hair smells lightly of sandalwood or a light, woodsy smell. Definitely a great product. I wish more people would try it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Verified safe ingredients & Actually Effective As Advertised If Strictly Following Instructions, February 2, 2010
By

Great results with the first use! Because this is a rather expensive product and I have been searching for a great/safe hair product for a long time, I did a lot of research and followed the instructions carefully while using this product. I intended to eliminate all the human errors and negative factors that I can control and hoped to prove to myself confidently that this will be a product that I can trust. I think I've found it. After the first use, I left my hair dry naturally. My hair feels very silky, shiny, and light. I also love the minty smell in the product - it makes the head massage especially soothing.

Here are my 2 cents to share on usage, purchase, and ingredients:

1. Extremely important to follow the instructions. Instead of reading the various sets of printout instructions, go to Chaz Dean's website and watch the instruction video for your hair type/product twice. [...] It is a lot more helpful visually and easy to remember once you're in the shower and fearing you might miss a few steps.

2. Start with more pumps - err on the plenty side and do not use less to save the product at the beginning. After you try a few times, you'll be able to find the right number of pumps to use for yourself.

3. Realistically, I don't know how many people can rinse their head/hair with cool water. I use lukewarm water and find the result just as good.

4. I looked up every single non-herbal name in the ingredients list on Skin Deep. Initially I was skeptical because there were quite a few long scary looking chemical names. I am happy to find that based on Skin Deep's 0-10 rating (0 = absolutely no harm and 10 = poisonous), the vast majority of the ingredients used are either no harm or very low harm (0 ~ 1); and that includes some of the long chemical names. Only 3 ingredients are moderately hazardous (4 ~ 6) and they are: PEGO-60 Almond Glycerides, Methylchlorisothiazolinone, and Methylisothiazolinone. Comparing to SLS and other much harmful ingredients used in commercial personal care products, I feel that these 3 ingredients are tolerable.

5. If you haven't tried the Wen products yet, I do not recommend buying the $29 intro package unless you are going to use every single product included in there. Because I don't use styling products or the balm, my only need was the conditioner and the comb. (BTW, the comb is very comfortable to use.) I bought the 3-item package from QVC that includes a 16oz cleanser, a 4oz tea tree oil, and the comb for $37. Because the regular 16oz + comb kit sells for $29 and tea tree oil sells for $20 individually, I found this 3-item kit to be a much better deal for the essential starter kit.

I think 99% of the time an infomercial will seriously inflate the function of a product. However, I'm now convinced tat Wen conditioning cleanser lives up to what the seller claims and belongs to the other 1%. I'll look forward to trying other Wen products in the future.

Absolutely a winner! Especially with natural hair. My resolve for 2008 was to go natural. This product is aiding me in transitioning from chemically processed treated hair to my natural (ethnic) coif. I use it on average 2-3 days a week at the recommended amount. It leaves my hair soft, manageable, and CLEAN. To increase lather and malleability add more warm water. I am still on the first bottle (16 oz.) and by all accounts will not exhaust it until late April. All I can say it REALLY works for me.
