The healthiest my hair has ever been,
By
This review is from: WENŽ Tea Tree Cleansing Conditioner 16oz (Health and Beauty)
I have tried all three "flavors" of Wen, and while the Fig Cleansing Conditioner is my favorite scent, this particular Tea Tree Cleansing conditioner is the best for my hair and scalp type. I have an oily scalp and coarse hair that is oily at the roots and dry at the ends. I used heavy duty clarifying shampoo everyday with the hopes of obliterating the oil problem. BIG MISTAKE! This made my scalp itchy and hair dry from root to end, and at the end of the day my scalp felt covered in nasty greasiness. Now I use Wen Tea Tree everyday and my scalp feels healthy and comfortable, not dry and irritated as when I used the harsh shampoo everyday. I didn't think this was possible, but my hair seems more balanced and perfectly moisturized both at the roots and ends and my scalp does not feel greasy at the end of the day. An added bonus is that my hair looks and feels healthier and than it has ever been. I even convinced my "product-phobic" fiance to use it just once and he continues to use it without further persuasion. I will tell you now that the product smells like tea tree oil, having a "medicinal" smell. At first I didn't like the smell of tea tree but now I find it relaxing. The weird thing, however, is that once my hair is dry, there is no lingering medicinal odor. I even smelled my fiance's hair, and at the very most his hair smells lightly of sandalwood or a light, woodsy smell. Definitely a great product. I wish more people would try it.

Verified safe ingredients & Actually Effective As Advertised If Strictly Following Instructions,

This review is from: WENŽ Tea Tree Cleansing Conditioner 16oz (Health and Beauty)
Great results with the first use! Because this is a rather expensive product and I have been searching for a great/safe hair product for a long time, I did a lot of research and followed the instructions carefully while using this product. I intended to eliminate all the human errors and negative factors that I can control and hoped to prove to myself confidently that this will be a product that I can trust. I think I've found it. After the first use, I left my hair dry naturally. My hair feels very silky, shiny, and light. I also love the minty smell in the product - it makes the head massage especially soothing.
Here are my 2 cents to share on usage, purchase, and ingredients: 1. Extremely important to follow the instructions. Instead of reading the various sets of printout instructions, go to Chaz Dean's website and watch the instruction video for your hair type/product twice. [...] It is a lot more helpful visually and easy to remember once you're in the shower and fearing you might miss a few steps. 2. Start with more pumps - err on the plenty side and do not use less to save the product at the beginning. After you try a few times, you'll be able to find the right number of pumps to use for yourself. 3. Realistically, I don't know how many people can rinse their head/hair with cool water. I use lukewarm water and find the result just as good. 4. I looked up every single non-herbal name in the ingredients list on Skin Deep. Initially I was skeptical because there were quite a few long scary looking chemical names. I am happy to find that based on Skin Deep's 0-10 rating (0 = absolutely no harm and 10 = poisonous), the vast majority of the ingredients used are either no harm or very low harm (0 ~ 1); and that includes some of the long chemical names. Only 3 ingredients are moderately hazardous (4 ~ 6) and they are: PEGO-60 Almond Glycerides, Methylchlorisothiazolinone, and Methylisothiazolinone. Comparing to SLS and other much harmful ingredients used in commercial personal care products, I feel that these 3 ingredients are tolerable. 5. If you haven't tried the Wen products yet, I do not recommend buying the $29 intro package unless you are going to use every single product included in there. Because I don't use styling products or the balm, my only need was the conditioner and the comb. (BTW, the comb is very comfortable to use.) I bought the 3-item package from QVC that includes a 16oz cleanser, a 4oz tea tree oil, and the comb for $37. Because the regular 16oz + comb kit sells for $29 and tea tree oil sells for $20 individually, I found this 3-item kit to be a much better deal for the essential starter kit. I think 99% of the time an infomercial will seriously inflate the function of a product. However, I'm now convinced tat Wen conditioning cleanser lives up to what the seller claims and belongs to the other 1%. I'll look forward to trying other Wen products in the future.

Absolutely a winner! Especially with natural hair. My resolve for 2008 was to go natural. This product is aiding me in transitioning from chemically processed treated hair to my natural (ethnic) coif. I use it on average 2-3 days a week at the recommended amount. It leaves my hair soft, manageable, and CLEAN. To increase lather and malleability add more warm water. I am still on the first bottle (16 oz.) and by all accounts will not exhaust it until late April. All I can say it REALLY works for me.

Maybe this works for a lot of people, but I have hair that normally has to be washed every day to keep the scalp clean and hair smelling fresh. I used this product for a couple of weeks exactly as described and although it did make my hair look nice after using, it did not get my scalp clean and it actually did not smell clean. It was as if it did not get out enough of the dirt and oil. Definitely expected better results at this price.

I have suffered with bad hair my entire life. I have thick, curly, unruly and frizzy hair. I have had expensive haircuts (short hair-long hair)and have spent a small fortune in styling products. This cleansing conditioner has saved my life-well, my hair anyway. Who knew that all I needed was to simply change the way I washed my hair? My hair is soft, hydrated, and manageable. My curls look beautiful and my flat iron has not damaged my hair because it is so hydrated. My highlights even after eight weeks still look great. Typically, I am running to the salon by now to have them redone. I am now getting compliments on my hair! No more bad hair days for me!

Love it! Nothing else like it!,

I just love this product! I was a little skeptical at first to buy it. I am not easily persuaded with informercials to buy a product. I always see them and I am thinking....not another product that is claimed to be great and never is. After thinking long and hard I finally decided to buy it. What a great decision that was. I truly mean that. I have dry/flaky scalp that is bit of a burden. I have managed to deal with it before by washing my hair with Head and Shoulders and then another product to moisture (shampoo and conditioner). That was the only thing that really worked for my hair and scalp. I have tried using other brands of tea tree and other moisture products but it always left my hair and scalp the same. I know that this product is different. I mean it! It really works. I have used it for several weeks now and I truly feel a difference. My scalp feels like I lathered it with so many products to make it feel so good. My hair feels transformed with the softness and moisture that I know that this product has given it. I love it. I truly do. There is nothing else like it. After feeling the need to use several products to get what I needed, now I only have to use one. What a great feeling!!!!

LOVE IT!!!!,

i was happy and amazed the very first time i used WEN. my hair hasn't been this soft and shiny since i was a little girl. first, i want to say to all my Sisters of Color...if you have relaxed or natural hair, do not be afraid to try this product! my hair is thick and can be very dry and coarse - WEN Tea Tree has TRANSFORMED my hair (not kidding!) i cleanse my hair once a week with the Tea Tree, but now that it's so healthy, moisturized and manageable, i'm also able to use the Sweet Almond Mint. it's fun to change up now and then, just for a sweeter scent. and when i go to the salon for a cut or color, i will only allow my stylist to use WEN when "shampooing" my hair.
i have never raved about a hair care product, but this is PERFECT for my hair. for those people who were disappointed or felt like it wasn't cleaning well enough, i would like to suggest maybe using your favorite shampoo first then conditioning with WEN.....my friend has the oily scalp issue and this solution seemed to well work for her.

THE CURE for Bad Hair!,
By
This review is from: WENŽ Tea Tree Cleansing Conditioner 16oz (Health and Beauty)
i will never be without this product again. i have not suffered a few bad hair days, but i have lived a bad hair life. wavy, curly, frizzy hair, and a flaky itchy scalp. to control this mess, countless products used and probably a million dollars spent (just by me). if i die a premature death it will be due to excessive hair spray coating on the inside of my lungs. NO MORE! i cannot believe the transformation just after one use (although i waited to review this after using for a month now). first of all, a healthy scalp with no flakes, no itching, no more hair falling out. second, gorgeous, healthy and soft hair! my husband can't believe how soft and touchable it is (i could previously use my hair as a self-defense weapon it was so hard and spiky due to all the products needed). my hair is shiny, easy to manage, and soft! i use the tea tree cleansing conditioner, the almond mint styling creme, and the styling stick/pomade. i wash it, straighten with a flat iron, and don't have to do anything to it for 4 days!!! truly amazing stuff. make sure and follow the directions, it's worth it.

Will Not Try Again After One Use ...,
By Wanda_J (NJ USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: WENŽ Tea Tree Cleansing Conditioner 16oz (Health and Beauty)
So, like most people who complain about their hair not looking as glamorous and as healthy as they would like it to be , I thought I would find my answer in the Wen hair care products. Being of a mixed race, my hair is fine, but coarse. When I saw the conditioning hair treatment used on ethnic hair and how gorgeous they both turned out (one woman in particular had hair like mine -- very curly and dry after shampooing; her hair came out shiny and curls bounced back into place), not to mention how the product boasts of natural oils and botanicals, I figured, "Why not? What have I got to lose? If her hair could turn out like that, maybe I have a chance." My hair is not in bad shape, but I would love to see a little more shine. Boy, was I wrong!
I followed the directions to the letter: Rinsed hair for two minutes, administered 15 pumps each on the crown, nape and sides of hair; massaged vigorously for a few moments, took a wide-toothed comb to evenly coat the hair (this is where the trouble started); put a shower cap on and continued my shower. When I combed my hair with this product in it, it came out more than when I used a regular shampoo and conditioner. I discounted it to probably being old hair that was shedding. Once I rinsed it out thoroughly, I didn't see too much hair. I wrapped my hair in a towel for five minutes to remove the excess water and continued my after-shower routine. When it was time for me to comb out my hair again (using a wide-toothed comb), my hair was dry, frizzy and brittle. Giving the product the benefit of the doubt, I put a little more water on my hair before using the 1-3 pumps as recommended for the leave-in conditioner, combed it back into a ponytail, twisted it, wrapped a scarf on it (to prevent flyaway hair), and let it air dry. By the time I was ready to comb it later in the day, not only was my hair much drier and dehydrated, I wasn't able to get the comb through it! Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I jumped back in the shower and used my regular shampoo to wash out the Wen product. I'm glad I only bought a 6 oz. bottle from Amazon, instead of going to the web site directly to order it. I will not be using this product again. I'll go back to using my regular hair care regimen of shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner and oils. Sorry, but I can't recommend this product.

I am really pleased with this product. I have used "no poo" shampoos and conditioners for curly hair before and this one is comparible if not better. I have dry, curly/wavy hair and also a sensitive scalp. Wen tea tree thoroughly cleanses (contrary to how it feels when applying it) and leaves your hair really soft. This is a suprise coming from an AVID conditioner user! It feels tingly and good on your scalp and smells really fresh and minty. I haven't had problems with the pump like others have mentioned, however i am not at the bottom of the bottle yet. My only complaint is that it seems to slightly relax my curls, but with the proper styling products it isn't an issue.
