I have tried all three "flavors" of Wen, and while the Fig Cleansing Conditioner is my favorite scent, this particular Tea Tree Cleansing conditioner is the best for my hair and scalp type. I have an oily scalp and coarse hair that is oily at the roots and dry at the ends. I used heavy duty clarifying shampoo everyday with the hopes of obliterating the oil problem. BIG MISTAKE! This made my scalp itchy and hair dry from root to end, and at the end of the day my scalp felt covered in nasty greasiness. Now I use Wen Tea Tree everyday and my scalp feels healthy and comfortable, not dry and irritated as when I used the harsh shampoo everyday. I didn't think this was possible, but my hair seems more balanced and perfectly moisturized both at the roots and ends and my scalp does not feel greasy at the end of the day. An added bonus is that my hair looks and feels healthier and than it has ever been. I even convinced my "product-phobic" fiance to use it just once and he continues to use it without further persuasion. I will tell you now that the product smells like tea tree oil, having a "medicinal" smell. At first I didn't like the smell of tea tree but now I find it relaxing. The weird thing, however, is that once my hair is dry, there is no lingering medicinal odor. I even smelled my fiance's hair, and at the very most his hair smells lightly of sandalwood or a light, woodsy smell. Definitely a great product. I wish more people would try it.

This is probably my fav "scent" of wen. The tree tea oil makes it tingle ifyou leave it on long enough. Only buy Wen from Amazon after getting RIPPED off from Gunther-whatever-his-name-is.

Great results with the first use! Because this is a rather expensive product and I have been searching for a great/safe hair product for a long time, I did a lot of research and followed the instructions carefully while using this product. I intended to eliminate all the human errors and negative factors that I can control and hoped to prove to myself confidently that this will be a product that I can trust. I think I've found it. After the first use, I left my hair dry naturally. My hair feels very silky, shiny, and light. I also love the minty smell in the product - it makes the head massage especially soothing.

Here are my 2 cents to share on usage, purchase, and ingredients:

1. Extremely important to follow the instructions. Instead of reading the various sets of printout instructions, go to Chaz Dean's website and watch the instruction video for your hair type/product twice. [...] It is a lot more helpful visually and easy to remember once you're in the shower and fearing you might miss a few steps.

2. Start with more pumps - err on the plenty side and do not use less to save the product at the beginning. After you try a few times, you'll be able to find the right number of pumps to use for yourself.

3. Realistically, I don't know how many people can rinse their head/hair with cool water. I use lukewarm water and find the result just as good.

4. I looked up every single non-herbal name in the ingredients list on Skin Deep. Initially I was skeptical because there were quite a few long scary looking chemical names.

I was excited to order this product. I had spoke to several people that used it and loved the outcome. I have wavey hair and hoped this product would allow me to wear it naturally. Anyway, my hair broke off around the edges and it was so rough; I couldn't get a come through it. Needless to say, I will not try again.

i was happy and amazed the very first time i used WEN. my hair hasn't been this soft and shiny since i was a little girl. first, i want to say to all my Sisters of Color...if you have relaxed or natural hair, do not be afraid to try this product! my hair is thick and can be very dry and coarse - WEN Tea Tree has TRANSFORMED my hair (not kidding!) i cleanse my hair once a week with the Tea Tree, but now that it's so healthy, moisturized and manageable, i'm also able to use the Sweet Almond Mint. it's fun to change up now and then, just for a sweeter scent. and when i go to the salon for a cut or color, i will only allow my stylist to use WEN when "shampooing" my hair.
i have never raved about a hair care product, but this is PERFECT for my hair. for those people who were disappointed or felt like it wasn't cleaning well enough, i would like to suggest maybe using your favorite shampoo first then conditioning with WEN.....my friend has the oily scalp issue and this solution seemed to well work for her.

I was excited to try Wen, as I'm always looking for ways to avoid harsh and unnecessary chemicals. This is a complaint against Wen in general: their website doesn't give a good breakdown and comparison of their products. I had to go on to another site to see what type of Wen to buy for my hair. I purchased the Wen Tea Tree because I get a flaky scalp and thought that this would help. And in the end I don't think I got the right product for me and probably won't buy their brand again. It's too expensive to try another and risk it not working either.

Pros:
- While in the shower my hair felt extremely soft when using wen. It was amazing and I was super excited.
- The tea tree smell isn't too overwhelming and didn't linger in my hair

Cons:
- It left my hair greasy in less than one day. I can usually go 2-3 days between shampoos, but not with Wen Tea Tree. I later read that tea tree is for dry scalps. My scalp gets flaky but not dry. Why do they not do a better job on their website breaking down each product? It's extremely irritating.
- Once my hair dried it didn't look or feel different from a regular shampoo/conditioner. And if I can't tell a difference, why pay four times as much?

Overall this wasn't a good product for me and my type of hair. It left my hair greasy after only one day. If Wen provided more in depth information up front I might have chosen a better product and been happier. As it stands I personally won't be using Wen again, as the cost is not worth the risk.

Edited 11/29/14: My youngest sister (just recently graduated college) took the rest of my bottle because she always wanted to try WEN but couldn't afford it. She reported back that it left her scalp oily but the ends were dry and brittle. Sadly the expensive bottle ended up in the trash.
