3.0 out of 5 stars Worx doesn't work as stated
I was excited to receive my rechargeable trimmer. However, on a full charge it didn't last more than 15-20 minutes. It's ok for small jobs but if you have a lot of trimming you would be better off with a power cord version.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hedge Clippers, September 13, 2007
This review is from: WORX WG250 20-Inch 18-Volt Cordless Electric Hedge Trimmer (Lawn & Patio)
These hedge clippers are a pretty good buy.. I have a lawn business, I really thought these clippers would be a little bigger in Teeth diameter. I have some pretty big hedges in my routes, these preformed ok, I must say that i will be getting 22" next time i buy a set. The battery did last along time for what i was doing, also bought extra battery for my bigger jobs. The one thing i don't like is that when you use your hedger and the battery goes dead that if the battery is to warm when you put onto charger it shows a green light. The battery must have to be cooled down for the charger to start charging ,indicated by a red light.
But thats the way my father-laws are also and he has a different brand.
Over all happy with these hedge clippers ....

The Worx trimmer is perfect for light trimming. I really like the cordless aspect without the mess and smell of gasoline and the wall mounted charger and trimmer holster are well designed. If light trimming ability and convenience is what you need, the Worx trimmer fits the bill.

Works really well. Wish the battery would last a little longer, but for medium size jobs, this is the ticket! Very well constructed and Amazon is the only place I'll purchase any of these products in the future. I received a bad trimmer and they sent a replacement immediately with return instructions of the old one, which was also postage paid. That's real customer service! I had thrown away the packaging material from the first one, but was able to use the packaging from the replacement to send back the defective one. Wouldn't have been able to do it if I had to return the bad one first! Thanks Amazon! I'm a customer for life!

I recently saw the infomercial for the Worxgt Cordless Weed Trimmer and purchased it. I was so satisfied I started researching other WORX products and found the CORDLESS HEDGE TRIMMER and have not looked back since....I will never use GAS or ELECTRIC CORDED TRIMMERS AGAIN!!!!This thing is AWESOME!!!Lightweight, Cuts like warm knife thru butter....great investment and best of all it comes with a wallmount rack and charger. If you have the weed trimmer the batteries are interchangeable...GET THIS PRODUCT!!!!

"Wow. Impressive", is exactly what I thought the first time I used it. I was able to trim every hedge on the property with a single charge. In fact, it was tired out before the trimmer was.

Positives:
1) Cuts *very* well -- much better than most corded models I've used.
2) Held the charge for the entire job. The box & instruction manual said 30 minutes, but I know I was out there far longer than that.
3) Fairly ergonomic. It is very well balanced and lightweight. The battery is positioned in the middle of the unit which helps the balancing. And the top handle is adjustable.

Negatives:
1) Having to hold both levers/triggers to engage the unit. I think the main problem here is the trigger on the top handle, which isn't very ergonomic as you basically have to hold that handle at or near the top to engage it. You can sort of trigger it from the side with a couple of fingers. Regardless, you have to squeeze it fairly hard. Having to do this makes it awkward at certain angles, which in turn made my hand hurt. I think this could potentially lead to carpal tunnel syndrome for some folks. A much better solution would have been to use the same trigger mechanism as the Worx GT trimmer -- you push a button with your thumb while pulling the trigger to engage the unit. If the unit had that, it would be far more ergonomic and I would have given it 5 stars.

This is a beautifully designed piece of equipment. After some initial problems, customer service at WORX helped me to resolve the issues I had getting the unit to work. Now that I have a working unit, I couldn't be more pleased. I have nearly 50 feet of privet some of which is old enough to be quite woody. The WG250 slashed through the project with power to spare after working for over 30 minutes.

My wife originally saw the unit on DIY Cool Tools. As a designer, she was immediately struck by its clean design and light weight. She has for years been lugging a corded Ryobi, routinely severing cords and risking carpal tunnel syndrome. She was delighted with our purchase and, once invited to share the initial trimming experience, refused to relinquish it for the remainder of the event.

Thank you, WORX, for a great product and an ultimately wonderful customer service experience.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great tool!, November 10, 2007

This review is from: WORX WG250 20-Inch 18-Volt Cordless Electric Hedge Trimmer (Lawn & Patio)
I am a mature non-mechanically talented female, and after charging the battery I set up this tool by myself in less than one hour. The only negative is that the owner's manual had slightly misleading instructions for set-up. Attaching the handle to the housing requires pressure, which is not stated, and also the locking bolt on my machine was already inserted, and I had to remove it before I could proceed. That also was not stated. However, the tool works great. When I started it up, the noise was so much less than a gas machine, for example, that I did not expect much. But I cut the brush back and forth, up and down, along a 100 foot country driveway, brambles, thick blackberry stems, tall grass, ferns, etc., working one hour on each of 2 days. I bought an extra battery, but I did not need it. The battery did not quit after one hour, I just got tired, not the machine's fault. The long reach dual blades and strong battery are definitely pluses. I am looking around for more to cut!

This is one of the best items that I have ever purchased!
I bought this because I had such good luck with the WorxGT trimmer/edger. If you have 10 acres, then this isn't for you. But both of these Worx cordless items work GREAT on my little 3/4 acre lot. Lightweight, easy to use, and really good battery life. I bought extra batteries just in case and am very pleased. Two of my neighbors really liked both the trimmer/edger and the hedge trimmer and said they will be buying their own. Good thing too, because they won't be borrowing mine. These tools are worth the money as far as I'm concerned.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Trimmer I've Owned, September 27, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: WORX WG250 20-Inch 18-Volt Cordless Electric Hedge Trimmer (Lawn & Patio)
I've waited two seasons to review this product to give it a fair test. It's still working like the day I got it. I have multiple bushes from evergreens to a privet hedge on a double lot and this thing handles them with no problem. Battery life is excellent. I can do all my bushes, take the same battery over to my mom's (she has two large bushes and a hedge) to do her trimming and still have power to spare. I bought an extra battery at the same time I purchased the trimmer but didn't really need to. I've had gas and corded electric trimmers and this one puts them to shame. Great trimmer, I would highly recommend it to anyone. Because of this tool I'm going to get the Worx string trimmer next spring.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hand held trimmer, July 10, 2009
By
This review is from: WORX WG250 20-Inch 18-Volt Cordless Electric Hedge Trimmer (Lawn & Patio)
I have 4 bushes in the front of my house (all boxwoods) that need a good trim approximately 3-4 times in the growing season. I had been using an electric Black & Decker trimmer for 30+ years and fighting that darn cord constantly. First thing, the Worx cordless trimmer came in its original box and I was a bit concerned opening it up that something would be broken. Everything was intact. The trimmer does what it is supposed to and the charge more than lasted long enough for what I needed it for. It is not too heavy for me and I am able to maneuver it all around. I am pleased with the purchase.
