Introduction of Taiwanese modern history,

This is made by PBS. For the people who are interested in but know little of Taiwan, this tape offers an easy and objective introduction of Taiwan's complicated modern history.

teriffic footage...,

Thank God for PBS. This is a fantastic survey of Taiwan in the 20th century. While some would argue that it is slightly skewed toward the pro-independence side, nearly everyone would agree that the video covers many historical points and uses rare and extraordinary footage to illustrate the events. Footage of the early KMT government is particularly amazing. And then there's that extraodinary scene of the ROC delegation storming out of the United Nations. I'd call this a must-see for anyone at all interested in the the life and times of Taiwan.
