My son loves this hot wheels toy and it has held up pretty well. It is a litle tricky to assemble out of the box, but he is 8 and once it was assembled he could keep it together. You can also purchase add-ons to the track for 10 to 12 dollars. My only comment that is negative is that you can find this in stores for less than half the price listed on Amazon (like for under 20 bucks). It is a good toy at that price, but I wouldn't pay huge mark up for it.

Over the years, we've gotten many Hot Wheels tracks, for my older and my younger son. Most end up in the garbage with us swearing off Hot Wheel's "crap" for good. And ultimately, we end up giving them another chance. In this case, I'm glad we did.

I got this set for my 5 year old Christmas 07 and today it is still being used. Its currently set up on the side of my LR for the holidays. My son can set it up himself and play with it without help and more importantly, without it falling apart.

I'll be looking into the add on sets!

My almost 5-year-old son LOVES this toy. It has been the source of many hours of race car entertainment. It is simple enough that even he can set it up and change the configurations plus, bonus, it's easy to take apart and put away when not in use. For $20, you can't go wrong with this track set! One warning, however, you will need extra cars. For those of you with boys, I'm sure you have plenty of extras around the house : )

If your kids love Hot Wheels, then this is great! My 7 & 4 year old love it! So many ways to set up the tracks, makes my 7 year old really think. We'll definitely be purchasing more additions for X-mas.

After several Hot Wheels purchases with my older son - I swore never to buy any Hot Wheels race tracks or cities or etc. again. Well, it worked for about 8 years - then this one wanted the trick tracks. So for CHristmas, he got them as a gift - for a total of 5 different stunts. They were really easy to set up - directions are easy to follow, and once you go through everything once, you see how one stunt causes another. Witht the 5 stunts, we had to use 13 different cars - my 5 year old loved this! He was able to set everything up himself after the first time. We have the Drop tower, the 360 loop, the flame launch, the tower claw, and the see-saw (?). Anyway, he can set them up in all different ways and still make everything go. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get everything to go just right - but that is a great learning thing about cause and effect. We had to figure out just how to close the claw so that the car would fall - but once you figure it out, it's no problem. This toy is well constructed and - dare I say it - durable. And yes Durable and Hot Wheels actually go together with this race set. This is not an everyday play toy - we take the track apart and store it in a large container, so that the pieces are quick and easy to construct. The opportunity to add on to the track will be fun. Oh - we set the track up in our living room, which is carpeted and not a big area. It worked perfect. The great thing about the tracks are that you don't have to lay everything out in one long line - they can bend and turn after every stunt, and still work great.

Purchased this for Nephew, Recieved before expected! He loves it and it goes great with the trick track set I purchased.

I was concerned that the track would be too advanced for my 4 year old grandson, but he loves Hot Wheels cars and I knew his father had enjoyed them as a boy, and would help with assembly and operation of the track. It was a success with the child learning quickly from his father, and the action track providing a domino effect action that was fun to see, there were lots of variations that the children came up with on there own. My one complaint was that when it came to putting it away, it was impossible to put everything back in the box, I wish the box had been a little bigger and compartmentalized.

I was eager to recreate for my grandson the fun his dad had with his Hot Wheels tracks. But apparently this set was either too complex for a 6-year-old to set up on his own or was just more of a hassle than he wanted to deal with, because it didn't get much use -- even though he loves the cars themselves. I'm still looking for a simple set of nothing but track segments and connectors; the child's imagination will take it from there. But apparently the manufactuer doesn't believe that anymore.

This Hot Wheels track is a lot of fun! Unfortunately, we have to manually trigger the last stunt because the claw never drops the car on the target. Out of about 40 times the claw has dropped the car on target ONCE. But my kids still LOVE it.

i like the game because the wheel that launches the car launches it like a special track and the crane lowers and drops the car on the switch that triggers all the cars on the sides and i like that the car in the middle goes off a ramp.
