5.0 out of 5 stars Would Absolutely Buy Again!!
I absolutely ADORE this revised edition of Where Dolphins Go! I love the strong, determined heroine who fights so hard to save her little boy. And Dr. Paul Tyler is a hero to die for. I was enthralled from start to finish. Mrs. Webb made me laugh and cheer. Okay, I'll admit it: I cried, too. Do yourself a favor and grab this one quick!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a super story!, July 17, 2011
This review is from: Where Dolphins Go (Kindle Edition)
"This awesome version of Where Dolphins Go shows why Peggy Webb is such a beloved writer! She hooked me with the first scene and didn't let go till the heartwarming conclusion. The Mississippi Gulf Coast setting is beautifully drawn, and Dr. Paul Tyler, Susan Riley, and Jo Lisa are the kind of complex characters you root for. This story is powerful and poignant, sweet and sexy. I highly recommend it."

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, A Must Read Story!, July 25, 2011
This review is from: Where Dolphins Go (Kindle Edition)
In this beautiful, haunting story of love and redemption, Susan Riley's faith and determination shine through. Dr. Paul Tyler's conflict as he struggles with unresolved grief and a needy ex-wife is both realistic and touching. The heart of the story is the same as the original, but the content has been altered. I was shocked to discover an old (2007), really mean-spirited review of the original version posted on this new version. What's up with that? REVISED means REVISED! The scenes of Curt with both Jean and Cindy are gone. Ditto some of the Jo Lisa material specifically mentioned in the 2007 review. There are other subtle changes, as well. Don't miss this wonderful movie version from the prolific pen of an author who has given fans much reading pleasure for many years. Talented writers like Peggy Webb don't come along very often.

From the back cover:

She was a mother looking for a miracle...

To Susan Riley, the dolphins at the Oceanfront Research Center were her last chance to reach her frail, broken child. Yet when she brought Jeffy to the center, she never expected to have to contend with a prickly doctor who made it clear that he didn't intend to get involved. Quiet, handsome--and hostile--Paul Tyler was a wounded man, and when Susan learned of the tragedy behind his anguish, she knew she had to help. But what began as compassion soon turned to desire, and now Susan was falling for a man who belonged to someone else...

He was a doctor looking to forget...

Once Dr. Paul Tyler had been the finest cardiovascular surgeon in Mississippi. Now he was a man desperately trying to lose himself in a bottle. The last thing he wanted was this beautiful, courageou woman killing him with kindness...and wringing from him enough emotion to bring him painfully back to life. With every breath in his body he tried to resist her. But somewhere down the line he knew he'd have to face up to his feelings--for the sake of this woman and the child who desperately needed his love.

And my review:

I guess I should have read the back cover description more carefully before I bought this book, but I only skimmed it, so I missed the "Susan was falling for a man who belonged to someone else" part. If I'd noticed that bit, I wouldn't have bought this book, because I don't like adultery stories.

That really didn't sit well with me. The author could have made this an amazing story about a man who learns to love life again after losing his son, and even blaming himself when he couldn't save him. But the author didn't have to muddy the waters by making him married! It doesn't matter to me that he and his wife are estranged, they were still married. The author tries to make it okay by making the wife date around too. It's not.

The author could also be quite crude in places. I really got sick of reading phrases like "there was something about that [explitive] bored look that made him want to rip her G-string aside and ram into her like a freight train at full speed". I don't expect romance to be all fluff and marshmallows, but stuff like that is not necessary.

I also felt that the heroine didn't really know the hero very well before hopping into bed with him, since he was so closed off. And again, since he was married, that was enough to make me stop reading.

I doubt I'll read Peggy Webb again. There was enough angst and conflict in this book that making the hero married to someone else was completely unnecessary. I think there are plenty of good storylines that don't have to involve crudeness or adultery. Not recommended by this reader.
