I have to second the other reviewer's opinion.
This watch is everything it claims to be in this listing, and more.
The picture is misleading...the case and band are both polished steel. The picture leaves the impression they may only be brushed, but neither is. Not a complaint on my part, but some may find the visibility of fingerprints etc and the need to polish the body to maintain its looks a drawback.
The watch has a solid weight/feel to it, and is low profile on the wrist. The width of the band and watch body itself is wider than you may expect for a rectangular face, but not as wide as many of the 42+ mm watch faces in style of late.
While I'm not an expert, I believe the links on the band are the solid type, and made of stainless steel as opposed to folded or rolled as found on less expensive watches. In addition, the closure on this watch is the butterfly/deployment clasp type, with two buttons to release the clasp.
The listing here on amazon indicates a mineral crystal, but the caseback of the watch says SAPPHIRE, a harder, higher quality crystal. The crystal is slightly curved to match the contour of the watch body. The slight recess on the fob side is matched on the opposite side to slim the lines of the watch. The result is a masculine while refined look.
As the listing indicates, the movement is swiss. The letters beneath the date window at the 6 o'clock position read "swiss made." The face is a black on black, carbon-fiber style pattern, which may be difficult to see in the picture posted here.
The ONE drawback is the 30 meter water resistance...while hardly a dive watch, I would hesitate to wear this in the shower. Not really a crucial issue for this watch, which is not really a wear-everywhere-never-take-off model. The caseback attaches via 4 screws in the corners, rather than a screwdown back. I offer this point for information only, and leave it to wiser minds as to the benefit or drawback of such a design.
More than impressed with the value of this watch which is distinctive but not gaudy.

A gorgeous watch November 14, 2009
By Cga
I've been on a watch buying spree lately. For no particular reason, by the way. I bought this Wittnaeur (a Bulova product) because I found it on one of those deal a day watch sites for a very low price. It looked nice in the photos, but when I received it I was truly shocked at just how nice it really is.

Everyone--and I do mean everyone--I've shown it to wants one. One female friend even said she wanted one for herself.

The dial is on the small side. The crystal is curved sapphire; the band is very long and everything about the watch reflects a quality and design that is hard to describe, but casually elegant without being ostentatious.

Not many watch bands fit me because I have a very large wrist. The band on this watch is very long, which for me was an added bonus. Chances are you'll have to remove some of the links.

The photos don't do it full justice. I have other nice watches (Movado, Accutrons, etc.) but for everyday wearing this Wittnauer is by far my favorite.
