My two-year-old daughter received this set of nesting boxes as a gift. I saw it and thought, "oh, no, cardboard, I'll have to watch her every second and it will still be destroyed." I was absolutely wrong. She has played with it constantly for the last month and it's still in mint condition. This toy seems very simple, but it's got a lot going for it. It's like a puzzle for them, but instead of shape being the interesting dimension, it's size. I can't believe how much time she has spent taking the boxes out of each other and putting them back. And this is just the nesting aspect of the toy- they also can stack them, arrange them in order, talk about the animals, count the critters and stripes, and haul the outer box around by its convenient handle. And here's a plus for the cardboard: it's QUIET. I get tired of the clatter-bang of plastic and wood toys, so it's an enormous relief to have a toy that can't shatter your eardrums. When we go visiting and can only take one or two toys, this has become my standby. I am buying this toy for gifts routinely now, and I can only find it on Amazon. I've called every toy store in the yellow pages, and no one in my area carries it. If this toy could just get some exposure, I think it would become a classic.

My son received these stacking blocks for his 1st birthday. He is now 2 and still plays with them daily. He had great fun nesting them and stacking them as well as knocking then down. Plus now we use them in the same manner as flash cards to name the numbers and animals. After a year the blocks are still in terrific shape so we have not had a problem with durability. Buy these for a special child in your life.

My son just turned two but I bought this toy for him before his first birthday. By age two, he had mastered stacking the boxes as well as putting the boxes back together in their carrying box. "Boxes" is one of the first clear words he can say. My husband and I much prefer a toy that enables a child to build dexterity and spatial ability to another clunky, noisy toy that takes batteries and gets buried in the toy box. This toy is constantly being used, and amazingly, he puts them back in their box after every use. After more than a year of play, these boxes are still in fabulous shape. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to help their child develop logic and thinking skills. This has enabled him to move on to master puzzles and other toys that 3-4 year olds do. A must have!!!
