I really like this item. It's simple, but attractively so, and it's a really good deal. Also, it's sturdy glass...it's got a good heft to it and it's not a shatter waiting to happen. Think of it as the "everyday" decanter that you can use without fear while you're waiting for the perfect occasion to break out that nice, pricey Waterford job that you got for you wedding.

This decanter is perfect for everyday use if you drink a lot of wine - it's great for us because we don't have an area to cellar wine, so we decant it to take some of the edge off of a young wine. If you don't drink a lot of wine, this decanter is perfect for a special occasion. Since it doesn't have any decorative cutting, you can really see the wine's true color and the simple shape will work on anyone's holiday table.

Got this as a wedding gift (with a nice bottle of red and the filter) for some casual wine-os and they loved it. As another commentor mentioned, this unit is not glass, you can tell by the weight, which makes it easier to pour, but it gives the appearance and sound of glass. I was a little bit worried when I first recieved it because when I picked it up it felt like plastic and I wasn't sure if they would like it, but the first time it got dropped and didnt break it took away my displeasure and they once again said what a great gift it made for them.

This decanter works like a champ. The glass is a medium thickness, not too thin but not necessarily strong. I hand-wash mine, kinda scared about what might happen to it in the dishwasher. This decanter will make entertaining with guests a lot more fun than just opening up a bottle.

A decent value for money, serves the purpose well as a basic decanter. Very sturdy, it has slipped in the sink a few times but has never cracked or chipped.

The matching funnel/filter (WMF Vino Stainless-Steel 4-Way Funnel) is a little expensive but they make a great combination!

This is a great decanter, its totally glass, strong and works great.
The weird shape is a great conversation piece and it holds a full bottle of wine with no problem,this is no MINI DECANTER. I use a simple funnel with this that i leave in the decanter after cleaning and for the price you cant go wrong. I paid 19.99 from amazon with free super saving shipping, and received it within 8 days, way to go AMAZON.I actually bought this around May of 08 and just getting around now to leave feedback.
I recommend leaving wine in for 3 to 6 minutes.It does make a difference, Have to go now i hear a bottle of Ruffino Riserva Ducale Cabernet being open and its GO TIME.

This thing has changed my life. Who needs to spend a hundred bucks on a fancy crystal decanter when this does such a good job? It looks great, feels sturdy, and decants superbly. The width is perfect for a regular bottle of wine (i.e. maximum surface area is reached when a full bottle is poured).

What has amazed me is that even cheap bottles of wine "open up" and taste so much more rich and full-bodied (and less acidic) after you decant them for ten minutes. I use this every night to decant every and any red wine I buy. It's changed my life. A terrific product!

I received this decanter as a gift last May. Very slick looking and its nicely constructed. It comes in real handy for everyday use. I like it-- made a very practical gift. As a consumer, I always recommend you shop around for the best price.

First of all, do read the editorial review carefully. The decanter is not supposed to be made of glass. On the other hand, it does "look like glass, sounds like glass." Pouring is fairly simple and non-messy, but I believe a bevelled/thinner edge could make it better. Overall, it is adequate as a casual decanter.

It is a little difficult to clean but makes for a great warmer and aerator of red wines. I would suggest this product for the reasonable price and attractive aspect.
