A great gift and sure-fire conversation starter, this handsome arrangement comprises a complete bar set stored in three chrome train cars. Components of the bar set are made of deeply polished, 18/10 stainless steel, with two 12-ounce double Old Fashioned glasses that ride along in the middle car, called the Bar Tender. (Get it?) The engine is made up of a cocktail shaker that fits into a sturdy chrome-wire frame, a jigger that sits on top like the engine's chimney, and a strainer and stirrer that fit into the engine's wheels. Behind the Bar Tender comes the Ice Caboose, which holds a removable, lidded container for ice cubes. The engine measures 13 inches long, 6-1/2 inches high, and 3-3/4 inches deep; the Bar Tender, 7-1/2 inches long, 4-3/4 inches high, and 4 inches deep; and the caboose, 9-1/4 inches long, 4-3/4 inches high, and 4 inches deep. --Fred Brack

This caused quite a "stir" when first unpacked for its website debut. We were all impressed with the clever design, which featues a cocktail shaker locomotive engine, an ice bucket caboose and, integrated as "wheels", a stirrer and strainer. Oh, and don't forget the steam pipe a.k.a. jigger. Nicely crafted and certainly unique, it will surely please train buffs and cocktail aficionados alike.

This would make a really great housewarming gift or holiday gift. It's definitely worth the extra dollars to get the complete set rather than just the shaker/engine. I love this set! It looks really great on my bar and, unlike one other reviewer, I have no problem with the strainer and stirrer staying in place. There's a hole in the strainer that goes over a little notch on the base, and then the stirrer slides into a ring on the strainer. Slot A - Tab B....much easier than it sounds!

Yes $$$ seems like a lot, but if you are looking at this item you are not trying to find a cheap bar set (amazon has plenty of other sets for that). This is something to show off with your premium alcohols. My only reason for only 4 out of 5 stars is the fact that the strainer and stirer (ie the train wheels) do not stay on well. However, the plus is they will go on either side making the set viewable from either the left or right side.

This is simply an awesome looking set. Unfortunately for me however for the short period of time it was available, there was no way of shipping it to the UK so I have not been able to purchase it!
If anyone can let me know of how to locate this item please do so! Even in a good quality 2nd hand condition I would be interested.
