1.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't believe it . . .
. . . while cooking in my sister's kitchen last week I reached for the "typical" whisk as I was preparing a custard for bread pudding - the mixture was thick and it wasn't going very well. I then tried her ball whisk and was utterly amazed at the difference! Since that experience I have searched every basic and gourment kitchen store in my area for this wonderful...

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest whisk design ever..., November 28, 2002

This whisk, and all of the Profi Ball Whisk line, are modeled after the asian-style broomstick whisk. There is not a better whisk out there. Firstly, the off-set balls will get mixtures from the sides of the squarest sauce pans. Second, the open-ended design disallows any mixture from becoming lodged inside the whisk. The loose ball ends allow for more air to become incorporated into your mixture. The Teflon balls on this particular whisk can be used to make the fluffiest scrambled eggs in the history of your kitchen without destroying even the most sensitive non-stick pan.
I cannot recommend these whisks highly enough to do them justice. I have one stainless in each size and a small Teflon whisk. I hardly touch my other whisks, EVER!
5 stars!!!!

I can only echo the previous reviewer. I gave away all of my other whisks. I prefer the nylon ball ones over the stainless ones, and I have both. The smaller one is stiffer due to the shorter length and I prefer it. I seldom use the long one to be honest, but that may just be my cooking preferences.

This whisk will indeed change the way you stir. I use it for everything possible. This is a great stocking stuffer or gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice for expensive non-stick cookware, February 25, 2006

This review is from: WMF Profi Plus 11-Inch Nonstick Ball Whisk (Kitchen)
We just bought some really nice Anolon Titanium cookware, and at the price I wanted to really take care of it, which means being very careful with the kinds of utensils we use. I was looking for a whisk to use for making sauces and gravy, and the usual plastic or nylon balloon whisks just don't cut it - they tend to just push the roux into the corners of the pan, and they get all gunked up with all the roux stuck inside the balloon part. I saw this whisk and figured it was worth a try.

It definitely works great in my small pots. It's easy to get into the corners of the pots, and the non-stick balls don't leave any marks on the non-stick surface. It doesn't fill up with stuff like other whisks do, but it is a little bit more difficult to clean up by hand (I tend to give it a quick hand-wash then toss it in the dishwasher to sanitize). Great for scrambling eggs and other mixing uses as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars One Problem..., September 5, 2006
This review is from: WMF Profi Plus 11-Inch Nonstick Ball Whisk (Kitchen)
I love this whisk.

The problem I have with the plastic version is that the ball halves aren't glued flush. Consequently, there's a lot of friction when the whisk is used with non-stick and other surfaces. (The stainless version's ball joints I saw in the store were far smoother. Add the advantage of the extra ball weight in the stainless version, and you have an interesting Q to resolve.

I'll probably end up using the Dremel to smooth out the joints and enjoy this otherwise great product.

Without a doubt this is the BEST kitchen item. I bought it a year ago and have tried to buy more as gifts for my friends. Have just located it at Amazon. Hurray! I grab it for every chore- it is easy to clean, does not scratch nonstick pans, and it is so wonderful. Buy one--you will not be sorry but will call it your best friend.

I purchased a plastic whisk months ago and really didn't care for it. A cooking instructor at one of my classes let me try this ball whisk and I loved it. It gets around the edges of your pan where the regular whisk missed this area. The balls on the tips won't harm your treated pans. I would recommend this to anyone who makes sauces, gravies or other dishes that must be constantly stirred while cooking.

I haven't owned a wisk for years because they take up too much space in the drawer. I got this one because I figured I could put a rubber band around the top to keep it from jamming the drawer. I have to say that now that I have it I keep looking for excuses to use it. It works wonderfully. I didn't know I needed this, but I do.

My wife needed a replacement whisk and thought to give this one a try. It is very different than the normal wire whisks but works GREAT. She may even order another one to have as a spare. This is easy to clean and whips everything wonderfully well, even potatoes. Gets into every area of the pan and is SO easy to clean. Good quality construction. After a month of frequent use, the tool shows no signs of use or wear.

Depending on what type of pan or food you are whisking ...these little wonders are fabulous! they incorporate a lot of air with a minimum of effort. They are worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pricey $19.99 but gets used all the time, July 24, 2006
This review is from: WMF Profi Plus 11-Inch Nonstick Ball Whisk (Kitchen)
I also just got a flat whisk for pan gravies but this was my first whisk. I chose this style because it's beautiful to look at and goo doesn't get caught in the hammock of the ball whisks but mainly I bought it because another reviewer said that this was the mod version of old-time Asian broom whisks. It works and I had already thrown out my hand me down ball whisk because of rust.

Eggy mixes do cling to the ends and require hand scrubbing sometimes.
