4.0 out of 5 stars I hate coming up with a title
The brushed metal design is very handsome and classy to set on the dining table. These were much smaller than I had expected -- only wished they were bigger as they could also be shown as a more prominent work of functional art. Haven't had problems shaking salt or pepper out of them.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's lovely to look at....
but the fact of the matter is this: unless you pulverize your salt, the holes on the top do not allow for good salt dispensing. The pepper comes out nicely, however. It provides sleek lines, and a great display - just don't expect to season anything with salt while using this set!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beatiful and Functional, May 3, 2004

I am a huge fan of innovation-meets-function and this product is top notch in that regard. I have yet to have a guest miss this interesting piece in my kitchen! It's a bit smaller than I immagined, but just as stunning in design as pictured. The craftsmanship is of very good quality and well worth the price. Don't expect mountains to pour our though. The shakers only dispense a small amount - inconveninet for cooking, but perfect for individual seasoning additions once the meal is set.

2.0 out of 5 stars WMF salt and pepper shakers, April 29, 2008

The salt and pepper shakers are very contemporary. However, the small pepper shaker (which we use most) does NOT shake out very much pepper. It is a very light shake. To improve it would be to make the 2 holes larger. The Salt has 3 holes and shakes out perfect (however we use very little salt). I was a little dissapointed.

Looks great on yer table. But it does cost 10x more than a typical salt & pepper set... and it collects fingerprints like CRAZY. (You'll be washing it a lot.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful!, November 29, 2006
This review is from: WMF Two-in-One Stainless Steel Salt & Pepper Cylinder (Kitchen)
This is one of the cutest peace of art anybody can have at home. It gets everybody's attention and it works perfectly as well. I didn't have any problems shaking the salt and pepper out of it. Although I expected it to be a little bit bigger, but I still love it. You won't regret buying it!

The holes are pretty small so had to by different kind of salt for the shaker and both pepper and salt shaker require quiet a bit of work to get out the amount you want. Novel looking set.

I agree with much of what has been said here - the things are tiny, but that's OK, it makes them cute. The problem s the 2-holed pepper shaker -hardly any pepper comes out. We're not even using it it is so frustrating. So, $22 later, we're still shopping for a decent salt & pepper set.

3.0 out of 5 stars A 'fix' for the small hole problem, February 14, 2012
By
This review is from: WMF Two-in-One Stainless Steel Salt & Pepper Cylinder (Kitchen)
This set gets 5 stars for form but 1 star for function. Yes, the holes are too small. The smaller shaker is particularly problematic. I improved the situation by putting the tip of a small nail (just slightly larger in diameter than the hole) into each hole and gently pounding it until I had slightly larger holes. The process didn't damage the product at all (but be careful).
