This review is from: WNUA 95.5 20th Anniversary (Audio CD)
You can't go wrong buying this CD. I mean if you love jazz, this is a must have. The artist featured on this CD are at the top of their game. From the comfortable chimes of Ramsey Lewis on "Sweet Home Chicago" to the delectable purring of Anita Baker giving us "Caught up in the Rapture"
this CD aims to please. Become captivated by the great Patti Austin and James Ingram as they deliver the classic "Baby Come To Me". Every song, every verse, every artist, is an integral piece of this body of work. Be sure to add this to your collection.

Local Radio Station Hits A Milestone,

This review is from: WNUA 95.5 20th Anniversary (Audio CD)
As the promotional info states, this is the 20th anniversary sampler for WNUA, the Chicago smooth jazz station. I look forward to the release of each sampler every year, and this one is no exception. It features a nice balance of new releases, as well as some old classics. There is also a nice balance of vocal tracks and musical tracks also. My one complaint is the track by Candy Dulfer,'Lily Was Here'. First, let me explain that she's one of my favorite artists, and this is one on my favorite songs by her. However, this is a live track. The rest of the CD moves at a smooth pace, and suddenly you hear applause from the live track, which I feel disrupts the flow of the CD. I wish they had used the studio version of this great song. WNUA needs to keep away from the live tracks, unless they are going to release a CD of live performances. Herb Albert's 'Rise' is also here, which is my (and legions of others) favorite song. This almost makes up for the live track. In any case, this is a great CD and I look forward to many more from this station.

Nothing New!,

This review is from: WNUA 95.5 20th Anniversary (Audio CD)
Nearly every track has been produced in the past on WNUA samplers. I have them all. I just don't need more of the same. This is becoming an annual rehash. It's too bad. I have always looked forward to the new CD offerings from WNUA. I guess they've run out of new material. I hope for all new material next year. My best wishes to all the staff and friends of WNUA.
