I own both wood and aluminum and prefer the wood handle to the plastic-over-aluminum handle.

This handle is a great addition to any gardner's arsonal of tools. The length is proper for easy use while the weight will allow you to stay at the chore until complete. Don't pass this item up if you are starting to enjoy the WOLF-Garten line of tools.

The handle seems strong, but the tools sort of rattle when you use it. They are firmly attached though and do the job in soft earth. It wouldn't work real good in heavy soils.
