Pretty nice, December 28, 2009

The watch has nice detail in the face, with a sort of perforated looking texture to the background and clean, detailed lines on the minor faces. The case is a matte finish aluminum and the buckle is as well, though a rougher finish than the case. My guess is that the case will scratch some with time, but not nearly as bad as a watch with a shiny steel/titanium/aluminum/etc. face. The case finish should hide the hairline scratches that are so obvious on a shinier case. The strap took me a few hours to get used to, but is quite comfortable.
I'm somewhat concerned about the crystal. It is convex and sticks out considerably from the watch face, so it will be susceptible to scratches. The crystal is quite thick--I don't think it will break, but time will tell if it scratches. I also wish the watch had luminescent hands so that I could read it in the dark, but quality lighted hands are only typically found on more expensive watches than this, so I can't really fault the product for that. The only other thing I dislike about the watch is its thickness. I am used to one of the extremely thin Skagen watches. This watch is about four times thicker than that, but thankfully doesn't weigh as much as many of the thicker metal watches on the market.
Overall this watch won't blow anyone out of the water, but it seems to be a quality product, and a good value. The face is attractive and reflective, shows good attention to detail, and the watch seems like it will hold up better than most to light abuse. I will happily wear it on game days. Go Cats!
